Job Description Johnstone Supply, North Americas leading wholesale distributor of HVACR equipment, parts, and supplies has a great opportunity for a General Manager to join our team. As a member of the Houston Store Group, the General Manager provides overall leadership and direction to deliver growth, profitability and a world-class employee and customer experience in the market. Position responsibilities: • Develops growth strategies for the market to increase share and long-term profitability in alignment with overall company goals. Develops and executes sales plans based on a thorough understanding of the industry, competitors and customer segments. Identifies and priorities sales opportunities and creates long-term, annual and quarterly sales forecasts by region, customer segment and sales channel., • Manages Branch Managers, Warranty/Rebate Associates, Pricing Analysts, and Purchasing Agents to carry out the day to day operations of the store group., • Develops and drives a consistent, positive customer experience across all sales channels, including in the branch, via phone and video, at the customer location or job site, and across digital platforms. Develops relationships and rapport with customers to establish win-win partnerships. Develops innovative solutions to anticipate and meet customer needs., • Ensures alignment of growth and profitability expectations with the execution of functional strategies, including merchandising, marketing, pricing, inventory management, warehousing and delivery, returns and warranty management, credit administration, and accounting., • Develops and manages budgets that provide for resources to execute against strategy and deliver profitability expectations. Monitors operational KPIs and implements continuous improvement strategies., • Maintains an engaged, capable and efficient staff by: defining positions, responsibilities, and expectations; interviewing and hiring; employee training and development; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Ensures workplace safety programs are effective and consistently implemented., • Ensures proper policies, procedures and controls are in place to manage company assets, including inventory, equipment, building facilities, and other supply chain assets., • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with Johnstone Senior Leadership and functional peers. Collaborates in the development of programs and services that will benefit all distributors., • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university; at least 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience., • Knowledge of wholesale distribution branch operations, including order fulfillment, inventory control, customer service, showroom merchandising, shipping and receiving, and sales., • Knowledge of financial operations (i.e., profit and loss, costs of operations, return on investment, budgets). Ability to read and interpret financial reports., • Entrepreneurial ability to see ambiguity as opportunity, and obstacles as chances to build new solutions., • Ability to develop and execute against sales and marketing plans that drive sales through multiple sales channels., • Knowledge of inventory management principles and procedures, including procurement, storage, forecasting and handling dead inventory., • Knowledge of the HVACR industry, contractor customer needs and product applications (preferred)., • Knowledge of governmental regulations as applied to product distribution, including OSHA regulations, Worker’s Compensation, Hazardous Materials Handling., • Ability to develop and execute strategic and operational plans.
