We’re looking for someone to work hybrid in NJ who can align HR initiatives with business goals and proactively support organizational growth. While you’ll need a solid HR foundation (compliance, employee relations, performance, talent), you should also speak the language of business and understand how HR impacts revenue, productivity, and company culture. This is not a traditional HR role. Our HR Operations Managers function as trusted advisors to multiple organizations, balancing strategic guidance with hands-on execution. Success requires strong business acumen, exceptional organization, comfort with technology, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering an outstanding client experience. You may support multiple clients simultaneously, each with different cultures, priorities, and HR needs. Final candidates should expect four interviews scheduled in rapid succession, allowing for a timely hiring decision. This hybrid role is based in New Jersey and requires periodic travel to client sites, typically 2–3 times per month, with the remainder of work performed remotely. What You’ll Do: Strategic – How You Think: • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business goals to proactively support growth., • Build strong relationships at all levels, providing thoughtful guidance and influencing outcomes without escalating every issue., • Spot patterns and anticipate challenges — for example, if turnover trends emerge, you investigate root causes and propose solutions rather than waiting for direction., • Speak the language of business, connecting HR strategies to revenue, productivity, and culture., • Balance compliance and people-first thinking to create a thriving workplace for every client. Tactical - How You Deliver Results: • Partner with Monarch’s internal experts to execute the full recruitment cycle, craft compelling job descriptions, and ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences., • Handle coaching plans, performance conversations, and workplace issue resolution with professionalism and empathy., • Administer payroll changes, manage benefits, handle garnishments/tax levies, and research discrepancies to keep processes accurate and compliant., • Send and track compliance training, update policies/handbooks, and maintain adherence to federal, state, and local laws., • Keep SOPs, employee files, and HR systems (like Gusto or BambooHR) accurate, organized, and up-to-date; generate HR and payroll reports as needed., • Compensation Support: Support compensation strategy, and ad hoc market pricing, when needed. What Makes You a Great Fit • 5+ years of HR experience (HRBP, HR Generalist/Manager, or similar)., • Robust knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EPA, ADAA, NLRA, and Title VII., • Demonstrated ability to understand business operations and translate business objectives into practical HR solutions., • Ability to effectively manage multiple clients, projects, and priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail., • Experience supporting multiple business units or as an HR consultant is highly preferred!, • Payroll expertise is a huge plus (FPC or CPP certification preferred)., • Comfortable learning and utilizing multiple technology platforms, including HRIS systems (ADP, Workday, Paychex, or UKG preferred), applicant tracking systems, payroll platforms, Microsoft 365, project management tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools., • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and navigate multiple systems simultaneously., • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus., • Strong communicator—you over-communicate rather than under-communicate., • Love solving complex HR/payroll challenges with a proactive mindset., • Detail-obsessed, highly organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced, remote setting., • Passionate about Inclusion and Belonging in the workplace., • Must live in New Jersey.
