American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/08/2025, • Duration: 16 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a Medical Surgical unit in a short-term acute care, Magnet and teaching Level I Trauma Center, • Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 pm - 7:30 am), every other weekend required, • Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6, • Patient population includes ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU, and medical overflow, • High turnover surgery patient unit with colorectal protocols, foley care, CBI continuous bladder irrigation, and TURPs, • Administers drips such as heparin, lidocaine (pain only), bicarb, bivalirudin, and occasionally amiodarone (stable, non-titrated), • Uses Epic for charting; prior Epic experience required, • Centralized tele with remote monitoring; basic tele knowledge preferred, • Floating required within service line, • Care for post-surgical and complex medical patients in a high-acuity setting, • Administer and manage specialized infusions, PCAs, Epidurals, and continuous bladder irrigation, • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment, • Holiday coverage as scheduled, • Navy scrubs required, • No charge for parking during straight night shifts; parking details provided during orientation, • All travelers must complete required orientation modules prior to assignment start, • Travelers required to complete fit testing for PPE compliance\n \n Requirements\n, • Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted), • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required, • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, • Proficiency in Med/Surg, telemetry monitoring, colostomy and feeding tube care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin, insulin, and PCA, • Epic charting experience required, • Must live at least 75 miles from facility (no local candidates), • No first time travelers accepted, • RTO (requested time off) can be no more than 7 days per contract and none in first week, • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to facility as a traveler\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
