This position will be located at our Tuckahoe, NY facility until our move to Stamford, CT in the 2nd half of 2026. The CAD Designer role is crucial to our workflow, helping us respond flexibly to each engineering challenge. The primary function is to design and engineer low volume prototypes and functional parts with a high level of care and consideration. Most of what you design will be unique to the vehicle in which it is installed. It will make a strong contribution and will leave a lasting impact. We evaluate part designs with layouts, modeling, and drawings using CAD (SolidWorks and Fusion), as well as hand-drawings early-on in the development stage. The CAD Designer will primarily focus on part design, modeling, and drawing for 3D printing, 2D CNC production, tube-bending, and processing assemblies. A working knowledge of SolidWorks and Fusion are key to the role. Design decisioning is collaborative and will be based on input from the Sales and Production teams, following analysis of current and legacy product similarities. The annual salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. What You’ll Do • Provide engineering solutions that meet customer performance requirements, reliability, cost and schedule requirements. Works with internal team members to define explicit non-ambiguous requirements. Provides technical direction for assigned projects, from initial concept phase to product delivery., • Understand mechanical, electric-mechanical systems and robust design methods. Responsible for concept layout, modeling, detailing, release and change management of drawings in configuration control system., • Select materials, finishes, processes, dimensions and GD&T to meet design intent., • Perform mechanical design tasks for machined and plastic/metallic 3D printed parts., • Manage and release drawings, models and documentation through our development lifecycle., • Support Sales by generating proposals and responses to customer inquiries., • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Automotive, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering disciplines from an accredited institution., • Minimum of three (3) years CAD and engineering experience in electrical / electro-mechanical / mechanical design., • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future., • Experience with 3D printing, automotive manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, magnetic properties, and automotive mechanical systems., • Aerospace / Automotive / Electronics industry experience., • Demonstrated experience in design, material selection, and design for manufacturability., • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
