Job Description Manager of Revenue Cycle Village Health Center At Father Joe’s Villages, healthcare is more than treatment - it’s a foundation for stability, wellness, and hope. The Village Health Center (VHC), a federally qualified health center (FQHC) serving individuals experiencing homelessness, provides comprehensive health-related services including primary care, behavioral health, dental care, Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Recuperative Care, and Detox services. The Role As the Manager of Revenue Cycle, you will ensure accurate and timely billing and revenue collection across the Health Center and VHC programs. You will lead a team of Medical Billers, develop and maintain policies and workflows, and collaborate with administrative, clinical, and program leadership to optimize revenue cycle performance. This position is critical to sustaining services and supporting high-quality healthcare delivery to vulnerable populations. Your Role in Managing Revenue Cycle Operations • Provide functional supervision and direction to Medical Billers, including coaching, performance management, and professional development., • Oversee all revenue cycle activities, ensuring accurate and timely billing, claims submission, and payment collection., • Monitor key revenue cycle metrics (e.g., accounts receivable, denials) and implement improvements to optimize performance., • Maintain and update the Charge Master, ensuring CPT codes and rates are accurate and compliant., • Develop, implement, and maintain revenue cycle policies, procedures, workflows, and training programs., • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA standards., • Collaborate with administrative, clinical, and program leadership to resolve billing, coding, and reimbursement issues., • Serve as the primary contact for payers, EHR billing services, and auditors., • Support senior leadership with financial reporting, dashboards, and recommendations for operational improvements. Desirable Candidate Profile Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, business administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)., • Minimum 5 years of revenue cycle management experience in a healthcare setting., • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience managing direct reports., • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required., • Experience with electronic health record billing systems; Epic preferred. Key Competencies and Experience • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance billing procedures (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, CDT, PPS)., • Understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other payer requirements; familiarity with ECM and Drug Medi-Cal programs preferred., • Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations and HIPAA compliance requirements., • Ability to analyze revenue cycle data, identify trends, and implement process improvements., • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to supervise, coach, and develop a team., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record billing systems., • Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated by improving operational efficiency and financial sustainability. Work Schedule Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with standard office hours. Occasional flexibility may be required for offsite meetings or trainings. Work is primarily office-based at the Health Center, with occasional presence in operational areas where healthcare services are provided. Compensation and Benefits Pay for this position is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $88,000 to $108,326 per year.
