We are seeking an experienced Computer and Network Team Technician to serve as an advanced technical resource across workstation, server, networking, cloud, and security environments. This role is intended for a technician with broad technical expertise, strong troubleshooting ability, and the ability to lead by example in both technical execution and client service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced MSP environments, can independently manage complex issues, and wants to help elevate the standards and capabilities of an entire team. Position Summary This role is responsible for advanced support, infrastructure management, escalations, and project implementation across a wide variety of client environments. This individual must be capable of handling complex troubleshooting scenarios involving servers, networking, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, virtualization, backups, cloud systems, and business continuity solutions. This role also plays a key part in mentoring junior technicians, improving operational efficiency, helping standardize processes, and supporting VIP’s long-term vision of proactive managed services, cybersecurity, compliance, AI, and cloud-focused solutions. Responsibilities · Serve as the escalation point for advanced workstation, server, network, cloud, and security issues · Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based business environments · Manage and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365 environments · Support firewalls, switches, wireless systems, VPN connectivity, and backup systems · Lead or assist with server migrations, cloud transitions, and infrastructure projects · Proactively identify risks, performance concerns, and security gaps · Document environments, procedures, and technical standards thoroughly · Mentor and assist technicians with troubleshooting and skill development · Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams · Participate in after-hours or emergency support when necessary · Maintain high levels of accountability, follow-through, and client satisfaction Required Qualifications · 5+ years of professional IT experience, preferably in an MSP environment · Strong troubleshooting skills across workstations, servers, networking, and cloud platforms · Demonstrated experience supporting business IT environments independently · Ability to manage multiple priorities and high-pressure situations effectively · Strong communication and organizational skills · Proven ability to take ownership and follow issues through to resolution · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Preferred Certifications · CompTIA A+ · CompTIA Server+ · CompTIA Network+ · CompTIA Security+ · Equivalent certifications, advanced technical experience, or proven real-world expertise across workstation, server, networking, and cloud environments will also be strongly considered. Preferred Experience · Microsoft 365 administration · Hybrid cloud environments · Cybersecurity and compliance frameworks · Fortinet firewalls and security products · RMM and PSA platforms · PowerShell scripting and automation · Backup and business continuity planning · Google Workspace environments · VLANs, routing, switching, and advanced networking · Endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions Compensation $60,000 – $80,000 annually depending on experience, certifications, and demonstrated expertise.
