The Foreman schedules, coordinates, and supervises the daily activities of a small electrical crew to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. This position provides leadership on the jobsite, supports crew development, and ensures productivity, safety, and quality standards are consistently maintained Specific Responsibilities: Safety • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on the jobsite., • Ensure crew members follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies., • Verify employees are fit for work and working in safe conditions each day., • Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings., • Answer technical safety questions or seek guidance from appropriate safety authorities., • Participate in safety incident investigations and reviews., • Provide daily leadership and direction to assigned crew members., • Orient new crew members to jobsite procedures and expectations., • Evaluate the competency and performance of crew members., • Assign individual tasks and coordinate crew activities., • Support training and development of apprentices through on-the-job learning., • Establish work expectations that promote productivity and teamwork., • Maintain a positive work environment and support crew morale., • Perform electrical craft work alongside the crew when needed. Planning & Scheduling • Review project plans and schedules to understand job requirements., • Ensure daily and weekly work activities meet production goals., • Verify all required tools, materials, and equipment are available before work begins., • Identify potential issues with plans, schedules, or materials and report them to supervisors., • Translate project requirements into clear work assignments for crew members., • Adjust work schedules or tasks as needed to maintain productivity., • Notify supervisors of equipment or material shortages., • Coordinate work activities with other crews or trades when required., • Ensure completed work meets project specifications and company quality standards., • Confirm crew members follow electrical plans, blueprints, and job specifications., • Inspect completed work and correct deficiencies promptly., • Maintain daily foreman reports and field documentation., • Ensure Task Hazard Analysis (THA) is completed before work begins each day., • Maintain accurate timekeeping records for crew members., • Document attendance issues such as late arrivals, early departures, or absences., • Assist the Superintendent with tracking production progress., • Support completion of quality reports and project documentation., • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, or discipline when appropriate., • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience., • Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License., • Knowledge of electrical construction methods and practices., • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures., • OSHA-30 certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire)., • Strong leadership and supervisory skills., • Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors., • Ability to solve problems and manage jobsite challenges., • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities., • Basic computer skills and familiarity with reporting tools. Supervisory Responsibility This position directly supervises field crew members and is responsible for assigning work, monitoring performance, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting employee development in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Travel Requirements: <= 25% (may vary significantly among individuals in this position) FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is frequently performed in outside weather conditions. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, stretching, pulling, crawling, climbing, and digging. The employee must have the ability to lift, push, pull, and move moderately heavy tools and equipment related to the trade. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work at elevated heights, small confined spaces, and various weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
