Puede usar la funcin de traduccin automtica de su navegador si lo prefiere. Assists journeyman electricians with the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Specific Responsibilities: • Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems, • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices, • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools, • Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code, • Install electrical equipment such as gauges, panel boards, synchronizing panel, lighting, etc., • Familiar with test instruments and reading circuit diagrams, • Ensures that work is done in accordance with relevant codes and standards., • Approach situations with a responsible, tenacious and accountable attitude, • Ensure all identified problems and causes for concern are reported to Management immediately and documented, • Pull wire through conduit with assistance of other helpers under supervision., • Under supervision, prepare the ends of conductors for pulling, using swabs and brushes., • Assist in trench excavation, carrying, moving or retrieving materials and/or tools., • Help move machine parts and materials to assist in assembly and repair of gear, generators and related equipment., • May splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps., • May connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools., • May assist in conduit installation., • May connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installing grounding leads., • May measure cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using such tools as saws, pipe threading machine, and conduit bender., • May assist in termination of wire., • May install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels., • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools., • Maintain tools, equipment and supplies in an order, • Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools, • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment., • Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools, • Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals, • Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secure conduit support Travel Requirements: <= 25% (may vary significantly among individuals in this position) Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience: • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2 previous years of experience in the field or in a related area., • State Apprenticeship License required, • Perform a wide range of manual labor in support of licensed electricians, • Learn to perform skilled activities in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, • Learn to troubleshoot electrical circuits, • Read and understand technical drawings, plans and diagrams, • Learn to operate various tools, instruments and equipment used in the testing and repair of electrical equipment, • Learn to work independently in the absence of supervision, • Install and repair electric lights, switches, breakers and other essential electrical system components, • Adhere to safe work practices and procedures, • Effectively communicate, • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, • Understand and follow oral and written instructions, • Communicate clearly and concisely, • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is frequently performed in outside weather conditions. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, stretching, pulling, crawling, climbing, and digging. The employee must have the ability to lift, push, pull, and move moderately heavy tools and equipment related to the trade. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work at elevated heights, small confined spaces, and various weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
