Job DescriptionSalary: 43,622.00 (non-negotiable) Human Resources Specialist Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts (Georgia) FLSA Status: Exempt Grade: 11 Salary: $43,622.00 Annually Closing Date: 2/2/2026 About the Office The Office of the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts serve the citizens of Fulton County by maintaining and providing access to court and public records and by supporting court operations across Superior and Magistrate Courts. The office plays a critical role in the administration of justice and public trust, supporting judges, justice partners, attorneys, and the public through accurate recordkeeping, responsive service, and operational excellence. Position Summary The Human Resources Specialist supports the administration of human resources functions for a courthouse environment, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, court policies, and county standards. This position provides day-to-day HR operational support in areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, leave administration, and personnel records while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism within a judicial setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Staffing • Coordinates recruitment activities for court positions, including posting vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating selection processes., • Serve as a departmental representative at job fairs and recruitment events., • Ensure pre-employment, onboarding, and oaths are completed and filed in staff personnel files., • Supports the administration of performance appraisal processes, including tracking completion, system entry, and guiding timelines and procedures., • Assists with employee relations matters by filing all investigation documents and or disciplinary actions., • Maintains accurate and confidential personnel files in compliance with record retention requirements., • Ensures HR practices align with federal, state, county, and judicial branch regulations., • Assists with coordination of training programs, mandatory compliance training, and employee development initiatives., • Prepares HR correspondence, reports, and documentation., • Provides administrative support to HR leadership as needed., • Performs related duties as assigned to support court operations and the Human Resources Department. Minimum Qualifications • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field., • Two (2) years of experience in administrative or clerical work, customer service, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully in this role Preferred Qualifications • Previous work experience in Human Resources, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Proficiency in HR software, systems and Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Strong organizational and time management skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of human resources principles, employment laws, and best practices., • Understanding of confidentiality requirements in a courthouse or government environment., • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail., • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with judges, court leadership, employees, and external partners., • Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications., • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information. Mathematical Aptitude:Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs. Functional Reasoning:Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria. Working Conditions Work is performed in a professional court and office environment with frequent public interaction. The position may involve working in high-conflict situations and exposure to safety and security risks. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, fingering, lifting, and carrying. Medium Work:Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
