Seeking past experience opening and servicing Estate Accounts, Trust Accounts, Custodial Accounts, IRA, Deceased Accounts and more! Title: Specialized Accounts Representative Target hiring pay range: $21.10 - $26.37 per hour Position Status – Full Time non-exempt (Hourly) Reports To: Specialized Accounts Manager The listed pay information includes the minimum rate of pay to the mid-point rate of pay for the posted position The actual compensation for this position may vary based upon, but not limited to, licenses or certifications, education or equivalent work experience, market data, qualifications, relevant experience, prior work and performance history, geographic location, and business sector. Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.” The Specialized Accounts Representative proactively engages existing members and external stakeholders in dialogue to ensure timely processing of payment and transfer services, opening of accounts, and ensure appropriate product recommendations for non-traditional (specialized) products which are aligned with member needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned • Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises:, • I promise to be mindful of your time with fast, efficient, courteous, and friendly service., • I promise to demonstrate integrity in all my interactions., • I promise to always treat you with dignity and respect., • I promise to work with fellow employees throughout the credit union to ensure you receive the best possible products, service, and solutions., • I promise to safeguard the security and confidential nature of your financial information., • I promise to greet you with a smile and thank you for your business when your transaction is completed., • I promise to deliver on our mission to help you achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service., • Serves as the subject matter expert on specialized accounts including, but not limited to, Estate, Trust, Custodial, Organizational, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) Power of Attorney (POA), Deceased Accounts, etc., • Open, close, and audit accounts when necessary for the Specialized type accounts including applications and file maintenance., • Assist members with specialized account transactions, including transfers, check withdrawals, loan payments, VISA payments, etc., • Order checks for specialized accounts when needed., • Process and post incoming checks on members accounts. Return checks for specific reasons such as NSF and stop payment. Contact member with any unusual situations such as suspected fraud. Initiate late returns and adjustments as needed., • Assist individuals with our deceased members’ estates, handing each with a caring and compassionate nature. This is to include, but is not limited to, sending/processing required paperwork, alerting specific internal employees to the member’s passing, closing the account, filing insurance, opening new accounts for the estate handlers, etc., • Receive, review, and approve/deny all POA requests., • Set up share/loan allocations for specialized accounts as well as payment allocations for IRAs., • Prepare and mail IRA Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), tax, and other documents as required., • Send all necessary documents to the file room for scanning., • Answer telephone for individual extension and assigned phone queues, handling each call according to our service standards., • Balance checks and teller totals daily., • Work closely with other departments and branches to assist members with their requests., • Receive members, visitors, and guests to the Credit Union who need assistance with specialized accounts, • As needed or required, facilitates the ability for the member to speak with other internal business partners for resolution of inquiries and concerns that cannot be resolved by the specialized account representative., • Recommends and positions credit union products and services that meet the member’s needs, • Maintains up to date product knowledge; has a full understanding of the features and benefits of the products and services offered by the credit union., • As required, utilizes product knowledge, customer service skills, and consultative sales skills to overcome member skepticism or member objections when a recommended product or service is genuinely in the best interest of the member., • Ability to effectively use written and oral communication skills and emotional intelligence to engage members in effective dialogue needed to guide members in difficult circumstances and situations., • Complies with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position., • Ability to work independently and exhibit good decision-making skills within a level of established empowerment., • Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. If serving in a designated lead role, may manage day-to-day task through indirect reporting relationships or through a matrixed management approach and the ability to collaboratively interact with internal and external partners. REQUIRED Education and/or Experience: • An Associate degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field of study; 2 years relative work experience or 2 years college course equivalent in lieu of degree, • 2 additional years of work experience in banking, financial service, or credit unions, • 10-Key calculator, typing and keying skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software PREFFERED Education and/or Experience: • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field of study, • 2 years specific member facing work experience within a Credit Union, • Working knowledge of commonly used service applications such as ShoreTel, Symitar, Meridian Link, Ascensus, etc., • IRA Certification and notary public (or the ability to obtain such within 1 year of employment) Physical Job Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed.
