American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Neuro ICU for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. • Specialty: Neuro ICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/27/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU role in a Level 1 Trauma setting requiring AZ or compact RN licensure and strong neuro critical care skills. • Work in a 32-bed Neuro ICU within an acute care hospital environment, • Level 1 Trauma facility with a patient ratio of 1:2 in ICU and 4:1 when floating to tele units, • Critical care neuro patient population including brain tumor removal, craniotomy, ablations, biopsies, and complex spine surgeries, • Use of Phillip's telemetry monitors and ventilators; Cerner EMR is used, • 12-hour day shifts, 7am-7pm, with 4 weekend shifts per four-week period, • Float required to all ICU and tele units, with ICU nurses as first to float, • Required to work 2 out of 4 major holidays as part of core staff rotation, • May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts, • Provide intensive neuro care to critically ill patients in a Level 1 Trauma setting, • Candidates must be able to float to all ICU and Telemetry units taking appropriate patient loads, • Charge nurse available and does not take patients, • Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support are available 24/7, • Scrub color is steel grey for neuro floors; any non-offensive color/print allowed elsewhere, • First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment, • Return candidates must not have been employed by the health system in the past year except as outside PRN staff, • All staff must have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing, • Testing on day one is pass/fail; unsuccessful candidates may be disqualified for 6 months in the region, • Mandatory participation in skills lab and educational modules on wound care, equipment use, lifts and restraints, • Active AZ or compact RN license is required at time of consideration, • Minimum of 2 years ICU experience in a facility with at least 450 beds, • Prior Level 1 Trauma experience is required, • 3-6 months prior travel nurse experience required, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Must have experience with external ventricular drains (EVD) and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, • Experience with Cerner EMR is required, • Strong neuro assessment skills are essential, • Must pass a Dysrhythmia (DYS) exam and sterile technique skills validation on first day, • SIMs Lab pass/fail for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change is required except where noted, • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver license for eligibility, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-614701.
