Job Description SAAR Management is seeking a detail-oriented Compliance & Leasing Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong administrative skills with sound judgment and the ability to assess applicant qualifications. The primary responsibility of this position is to review rental applications, verify documentation, and determine whether prospective residents meet the company's leasing and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate understands how to follow established screening procedures while using practical judgment to ensure that qualified residents are approved and that all policies, lease requirements, and fair housing regulations are followed. This position works closely with property managers, leasing teams, and applicants to ensure a smooth, compliant, and efficient move-in process. Key Responsibilities Application & Compliance Review • Review and process rental applications for accuracy and completeness., • Verify applicant documentation including income, employment, rental history, background checks, and credit reports., • Evaluate applicant eligibility based on company screening criteria and leasing policies., • Approve or decline applications following company procedures and compliance standards., • Ensure all decisions are consistent, documented, and compliant with Fair Housing regulations., • Assist prospects through the leasing process by explaining application requirements and next steps., • Ensure all fees, deposits, and documentation are collected prior to lease execution., • Coordinate with leasing staff and property managers to prepare approved applicants for move-in., • Confirm that all compliance and screening requirements are satisfied before lease approval., • Communicate professionally with applicants regarding application status, documentation requests, or decisions., • Provide clear guidance to prospects throughout the screening and approval process., • Maintain accurate records of applications, approvals, denials, and supporting documentation., • Track application processing timelines and provide updates to management as needed., • Ensure all resident files remain organized, compliant, and audit-ready., • Work closely with property managers and leasing teams to evaluate applicant qualifications., • Support leasing teams by ensuring all compliance requirements are satisfied prior to move-in., • 1–2 years of experience in property management, leasing, or rental application processing preferred., • Familiarity with tenant screening processes, rental applications, and leasing procedures., • Basic understanding of Fair Housing regulations and compliance standards., • Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation carefully., • Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making when evaluating applicants., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong organizational and time management skills., • Experience with property management software (Yardi preferred)., • Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills. High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework in business, real estate, or property management is a plus.
