Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse DriverJob Description The Warehouse Driver safely operates a box truck to complete local delivery routes, provides courteous service to customers, and supports warehouse and shipping operations in a busy contract manufacturing environment. This role combines driving, material handling, and basic warehouse duties, including loading and unloading parts and assisting with inventory tracking. Responsibilities • Drive a Ford box truck to complete local delivery routes within approximately 30 miles of the facility., • Deliver customer parts and materials on time while following assigned routes and schedules., • Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with customers during pickups and deliveries., • Load and unload the truck independently, safely handling parts and materials up to 50 lbs., • Use maps or routing tools to plan efficient delivery routes and stay on track with daily delivery plans., • Verify delivery documentation, such as quantities and part descriptions, to ensure accurate deliveries and pickups., • Operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, load, and unload materials as needed., • Assist in the shipping and warehouse department with tasks such as sorting, staging, and preparing orders for shipment., • Support inventory activities by locating, counting, and tracking materials and finished goods when requested., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck and work area in the warehouse and shipping department., • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while driving, operating forklifts, and working in the machine shop environment.Essential Skills, • Experience driving box trucks or similar delivery vehicles for local routes., • Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers during deliveries., • Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis., • Experience with sit-down forklifts and general forklift operation in a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Material handling experience, including loading, unloading, and moving parts and materials safely., • Basic warehouse experience, including working in shipping, receiving, or general labor roles., • Ability to use maps or routing tools to plan and follow efficient delivery routes., • Strong time management skills to stay on schedule and complete all deliveries within assigned timeframes., • High school education or equivalent.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience working in a machine shop, manufacturing, or industrial environment., • Experience with inventory tracking or assisting with cycle counts in a warehouse setting., • Comfort working both on the road and in a warehouse or shop environment during the same shift., • Attention to detail when verifying deliveries, quantities, and documentation., • Reliability and a strong work ethic to handle a mix of driving and hands-on warehouse tasks.Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in a busy machine shop and warehouse environment combined with daily driving in a Ford box truck. You spend a significant portion of the day on the road completing local deliveries within about 30 miles, and the rest of the time working in the shipping and warehouse areas. The machine shop environment includes industrial equipment, active production areas, and typical shop noise and activity. The role is physically active, involving regular lifting up to 50 lbs, loading and unloading trucks, and operating sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment. You should feel comfortable working around machinery, moving materials, and transitioning between driving duties and warehouse tasks throughout the shift. Clothing should be practical and suitable for a machine shop and warehouse setting, with appropriate safety gear as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
