Job DescriptionDescription: The Manager of Logistics is responsible for leading and overseeing all hauling, distribution, and logistics operations that support the Farming Operations division. This role ensures the efficient flow of goods, materials, and equipment by managing routes, coordinating shipments, and directing the Logistics TEAM—including CDL drivers. The Manager of Logistics will balance cost efficiency, customer service, and operational excellence while maintaining profitability and service standards across all logistics functions. What Success Looks Like • Logistics Oversight: Direct and oversee all hauling, routing, and order coordination from customers, field operations, and internal departments., • Route Optimization: Manage driving routes daily to ensure timely deliveries, cost efficiency, and service quality; proactively adjust as conditions change., • TEAM Leadership: Supervise and develop the Logistics TEAM, including CDL drivers and support staff, providing coaching, training, and performance management., • Customer & Vendor Communication: Provide clear shipment details (driver location, ETAs, delays) and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors., • Decision-Making: Evaluate circumstances on a shipment-by-shipment basis, making decisions that protect service standards, fairness, and profitability., • Systems & Reporting: Maintain accurate logistics data in the internal system, update information daily, and generate management reports for visibility into performance, cost, and productivity., • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with field operations, farming teams, and other internal departments to align on schedules, requirements, and priorities., • Urgency & Accuracy: Maintain a strong sense of urgency in moving freight and materials without sacrificing accuracy, safety, or compliance., • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and customer satisfaction., • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve routing, reduce costs, and streamline logistics processes while upholding company service standards., • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience required)., • 3–5 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation coordination, or supply chain administration, with proven leadership responsibilities., • Leadership Experience: Prior background managing drivers, coordinators, or logistics staff in a fast-paced, high-demand environment., • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience in logistics/ERP systems; QuickBooks experience preferred., • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, optimize routes, and interpret reports to drive decision-making., • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact effectively with drivers, vendors, customers, and executives., • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to manage unexpected challenges with professionalism and sound judgment., • Adaptability: Flexible in handling shifting priorities and operational demands while maintaining focus and accuracy., • Organizational Strength: Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
