We are seeking Field Walkout Engineers who will perform walkouts for an entire town and/or subdivision to create field notes for new or existing (as-built) cable plants following specifications provided by customer. Responsibilities • Perform new build walkout or as-built mapping., • Follow guidelines to provide detailed accurate route of existing or new build plant., • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications., • Obtain the correct field information, record verification, document all details for aerial and underground telecommunications including fiber, coax, poles, pedestals, and more. Skills we are looking for • 2+ years of cable mapping experience within the CATV industry is required., • Comprehensive knowledge of the fielding process with hands on experience in CATV asbuilt and new build walkouts., • Knowledge of cable design and basic OSP construction practices of cable systems., • Permitting experience in telecommunications such as: right of way (ROW), pole, railroad, and government agency permitting is preferred., • Able to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects., • Ability to accurately update As-Built field prints with equipment & information obtained from the field walkout., • Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, & PDF Editor with the ability to learn new software and technologies., • Ability to draw digitally in software programs like Bluebeam is preferred., • Must be highly responsible and self-motivated., • Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills., • Able to work independently within minimal supervision., • Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner. Additional Information • This is a full-time, production-based position., • Must be willing to travel 100% nationwide., • Perform field walkout assignments daily over varying terrain and in all weather conditions., • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record., • Company vehicle and necessary tools will be provided., • Hotel expenses covered., • Full benefits package. This approach eliminates round-trip editing between applications (such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere), significantly reducing production time while maintaining quality. The ideal candidate will be comfortable completing the entire workflowfrom screen capture to final editwithin TightStudio. Key Responsibilities • Create high-quality screen capture recordings of course information displayed in web browsers using TightStudio software, • Utilize zoom functionality to focus on key elements and enhance viewer engagement, • Follow storyboard concepts and creative direction provided for each project, • Edit screen recordings and pre-recorded video clips together using TightStudio, • Clean up footage and format videos to specific duration requirements, • Perform post-production editing including trimming, transitions, and quality adjustments, • Deliver finished videos and source files in specified formats, • Assist with any corrections or revisions in a timely manner, • Ensure consistent quality and professional presentation across all deliverablesRequired Qualifications, • Mac computer (required) - TightStudio software compatibility, • Proficiency in TightStudio or willingness to master it quickly - Ability to complete entire projects within the screen recording software without round-tripping to other editors, • Basic video editing skills - Understanding of editing fundamentals and techniques, • Timeline-based editing knowledge - Experience working with timeline editors and multi-track editing, • Experience with screen recording software and workflow optimization, • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workNice to Have, • Previous experience with TightStudio or similar screen recording software, • Experience working on multiple video projects simultaneously, • Portfolio demonstrating screen recording and editing work, • Experience creating educational or tutorial-style videos, • Understanding of efficient workflows to maximize productivity without sacrificing qualityPlease note: This is a contract position and is compensated on a per project basis This is a remote position.
