The ADON will work collaboratively with department leadership, clinical personnel and other healthcare professionals to maintain compliance with regulations and enhance Member outcomes. Salary: $84,000 - $96,000 DOE Essential Job Functions: • Direct and supervise the daily functions of clinical personnel and direct care staff in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Assisted Living and Residential Care Facilities., • Ensure nursing standards and department operation standards meet or exceed state and federal regulatory requirements., • Ensure that all nursing personnel and direct care staff comply with the written policies and procedures established by the community. Advise on policy revisions as needed., • Participate in the Member assessment process and the development of care plans for each Member. Review Member evaluations, service plans and interim service plans for accuracy. Attend Member care conferences when required., • Ensure that personnel providing direct care to Members are providing such care in accordance with the Member’s service plan and wishes., • Work with clinical team to monitor day-to-day care levels of Members for quality assurance and to verify appropriate levels of care are established. Inform the Director of Assisted Living and Staffing Manager of staffing needs as acuity changes occur to ensure adequate staff support is provided to meet Member needs. Reviews ABST data for accuracy., • Meet regularly with the clinical team and support personnel to plan shift services, programs, and activities. Ensure tasks are completed as directed., • Monitor and evaluate changes in Member condition, implement effective interventions, and document accordingly., • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care strategies for members., • Assist in arranging third-party services and transportation for Members., • Consult with healthcare practitioners in providing the Member’s care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc. Ensure that transcribed orders from the healthcare provider are being completed correctly and professionally., • Ensure staff are following safe and accurate medication management and treatment procedures, maintaining proper documentation and storage. Ensure medications are packaged according to the community’s unit dose packaging policy. Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required, and in accordance with established procedures., • Monitor the alert charting system and regularly review Member Health Records for compliance and quality standards., • Ensure Member care is provided in a safe and dignified manner, always upholding Member dignity, choice, and respect. Ensure Member rights are always maintained., • Ensure Member care meets the personal, physical, and cognitive needs of each Member as well as maximizing the Member capabilities, identity, independence, choice, and opportunity for social interaction., • Ensure sound infection control practices are in place that promote a healthy environment and ensure all required infection control training is met., • Ensure Abuse Reporting guidelines are followed and promptly investigate all incident reports. Ensure clinical personnel complete accident/incidents involving Members and staff. Assist in the initiation of investigations of Member incidents within 72 hours., • Implement and monitor Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Program initiatives for improved care and quality of life programs according to company policies and as required by federal regulations., • Complete daily clinical and environmental rounds to evaluate Member care being provided and report significant events. Ensure that pertinent clinical documentation is completed according to policy., • Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the healthcare needs of Members. Report needs to the Director of Assisted Living., • Administer professional nursing services commensurate with the scope of practice., • Meet and resolve issues with Members and/or family members. Report significant issues to the Director of Nursing and Director of Assisted Living., • Collaborate with the Staffing Manager in hiring, supervising, evaluating, and providing progressive discipline for all care staff. Prepare written counseling and action plans for deficiencies of the direct care staff., • Assist with the development and implementation of training programs for staff that meet state and federal requirements as well as organizational policies and procedures., • Participate in the on-call rotation to support staffing needs when callouts occur. Provide on-call support to the clinical team when Director of Nursing is unavailable. Fill in as Charge Nurse as needed. Education: • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN in this state with some long-term care experience and a strong passion for working with the senior population., • Experience with case management and/or being a nurse supervisor required., • Current CPR and First Aid certification required., • 3 Years of Experience Knowledge / Mental / Skill Requirements: • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to ALF/RCF facilities., • Maintain confidentiality of all Member care information accordance with HIPPA guidelines., • Ability to make quick, clear judgments based on facts and communicate issues with sensitivity to different communication styles and personalities., • Ability to handle high level of activity and multiple priorities in calm manner with common sense and independent action Experience in operating blood pressure cuff, thermometer, Hoyer lift, hospital beds, and call system., • Ability to multi-task with tight timelines, handle multiple situations and contacts simultaneously., • Ability to accept responsibility for direction, organizing, formulating practices, and making decisions., • Ability to influence people’s opinions, attitudes, or judgments about ideas or things, to motivate, convince, or negotiate., • Ability to deal with Members and employees., • Ability to maintain relationships that facilitate task accomplishment; to cooperate and resolve conflicts; to recognize needs and be sensitive to others., • Ability to perform repetitive work, continuously performing the same work according to set procedures, sequence, or pace., • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure involving differences in techniques, procedures, physical demands, or work situations., • Ability to work alone, as a member of a team, able to plan own work activities and with a minimum amount of supervision., • Ability to identify task requirements, monitor progress toward accomplishment and meet deadlines for completion of projects in a timely manner., • Ability to receive guidance and supervision.
