Position Summary The Electrical Lead is responsible for day-to-day electrical operations, ensuring high-quality electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work is completed on naval or commercial vessels, in accordance with regulatory standards. This role coordinates workflow with production and engineering teams to support on-time vessel delivery. The Electrical Lead reports to the Electrical Manager and oversees approximately 10 electricians and technicians. Domestic and international travel may be required. Essential Functions • Lead shipboard electricians to meet production schedules, milestones, and technical specifications aligned with project priorities, including, but not limited to, power distribution, motors, lighting, control panels, and instrumentation, while enforcing safe work practices, • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain electrical systems, ensuring crew compliance with NEC and NAVSEA standards, work instructions, JHAs, and incident reporting, • Plan and communicate daily work with the Craft Manager; monitor resources, tools, materials, and conduct preventative maintenance to optimize productivity, • Support execution by breaking down work packages for correct material ordering, and driving continuous improvement in quality and cost efficiency, • Other duties as assignedRequirements:, • Must have a strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics for installation, repair, and maintenance, following shipyard regulatory requirements, • Must have ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical specifications, • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills, • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills, • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor, • Journeyman, Technical or Associate degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, • 2 years of electrical experience required, shipyard or ship repair environment preferred Fincantieri’s core competencies reflect our values and key behavioral expectations for all employees: • Open Mindset: Identify and solve problems, embrace change, and seek continuous learning., • Strategic Leadership: Build trust, unity, and accountability while working toward shared goals., • Accomplishment: Take ownership, deliver results, and ensure customer satisfaction., • Social Connection: Collaborate, communicate, and value diversity and inclusion.
