Job DescriptionJob Title: MIG Welder Job Description This role focuses on aluminum and stainless steel MIG and TIG production welding in a high-quality manufacturing environment. You will work primarily on finished products for key customers, performing precise welds on both thin and thick materials, and contributing to a clean, professional final appearance. The position also involves cross-training on various shop machines, allowing you to broaden your skills and support multiple areas of production. Responsibilities • Perform aluminum and stainless steel MIG and TIG production welding in a high-volume manufacturing environment., • Set up and adjust welding machines independently for different materials and thicknesses, including thin and thick stock., • Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to complete welds accurately according to specifications and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)., • Fit up components prior to welding to ensure proper alignment, dimensions, and overall quality of assemblies., • Work in the finished product area, focusing on high-quality weld appearance and metal finishing to meet customer standards., • Perform grinding, metal finishing, and other post-weld processes to achieve clean, consistent, and visually appealing results., • Follow established welding procedures and production guidelines to maintain consistency and meet production targets., • Use appropriate welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and solid wire MIG, on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel materials., • Support fabrication activities, including basic fabrication and pipe welding tasks as required by production needs., • Cross-train and operate various machines and equipment in the shop to assist in different stages of the manufacturing process., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety policies and best practices in a manufacturing facility., • Inspect work for quality, verifying weld integrity and conformance to specifications before products move to the next stage.Essential Skills, • Proficient MIG welding skills with the ability to weld both thin and thick materials on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately., • Experience setting up and adjusting welding machines for various materials and thicknesses., • Strong fit-up skills to ensure proper alignment and assembly before welding., • Hands-on experience with production welding in a manufacturing environment., • Knowledge and practical use of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)., • Ability to perform grinding and metal finishing as part of the welding and finishing process., • Capability to perform MIG welding on 3/16" and 11–18 gauge material., • Experience with solid wire MIG welding processes., • Understanding of basic fabrication and welding practices for carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior TIG welding experience is a plus, especially on aluminum and stainless steel., • Experience in fabrication and pipe welding is beneficial., • Background in aluminum welding, MIG aluminum, and MIG stainless welding is highly valued., • Familiarity with production workflows in a large manufacturing facility., • Willingness to cross-train and learn various machines and processes throughout the shop., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a 72,000-square-foot, climate-controlled manufacturing facility designed for comfort and efficiency. The shop is very organized and equipped with all-new Lincoln welding machines and modern production equipment. You will work in a structured production setting with a focus on finished product quality, using MIG and TIG welding processes, grinding tools, and other fabrication equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, providing a professional setting where welders can focus on precision, consistency, and craftsmanship. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.45/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
