Job Summary: Northern Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead operations at 49th State Brewing – Ted Stevens. The General Manager oversees all aspects of the restaurant’s performance, including sales growth, cost control, staff development, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. This role ensures the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of the restaurant while upholding company standards for quality, safety, and hospitality. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership & Staff Management • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional service., • Make hiring and termination decisions as needed; oversee staff performance and appraisals., • Schedule labor according to business needs while maintaining labor cost objectives., • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment., • Administer fair and consistent corrective action when necessary. 2. Operations & Guest Experience • Ensure guests feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times., • Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation., • Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures., • Support operations as needed to maintain guest satisfaction and service standards. 3. Financial Performance & Reporting • Achieve company goals in sales, profitability, service, and cleanliness., • Control cash and receipts by adhering to cash-handling and reconciliation procedures., • Submit accurate reports, paperwork, and payroll in a timely manner., • Manage inventory, verify deliveries, and prevent product loss through theft, breakage, or waste., • Utilize company systems (R365, Toast, SpotOn Teamwork, MS Teams) to monitor labor, turnover, and sales performance metrics. 4. Compliance & Safety • Enforce compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and labor regulations., • Ensure proper handling of food, beverage, alcohol, and tobacco products in line with local and federal laws., • Understand and comply with all Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport regulations and security procedures., • Learn and enforce all airport security and badging protocols, including tracking and facilitating employee badges., • Protect the safety and security of employees, guests, and property, ensuring compliance with local, federal, and airport-specific regulations. 5. Maintenance & Facility Management • Oversee preventative maintenance for building, property, and equipment., • Ensure all equipment is in excellent working condition through regular inspections., • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment at all times. 6. Marketing & Community Engagement • Develop, plan, and execute local marketing, advertising, and promotional activities., • Must be at least 21 years of age., • Minimum of 5 years in front-of-house operations and/or assistant management experience., • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team., • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail., • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities., • Proficient with POS systems and basic math for financial accuracy., • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours), bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs., • Availability to work 50–60 hours per week, including weekends and holidays., • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses., • 401(k) with up to 3% company match., • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance., • Paid time off and holidays., • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement., • Employee discounts on meals and in-house products at all NHG locations.
