Location: Onsite – West Sacramento, CA Work Schedule: Onsite 5 days per week, no remote or hybrid option Employment Type: W2 only Candidate Preference: Green Card holders or U.S. Citizens preferred Submission Restriction: No layers, no third-party pass-through arrangements entertained Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AI/ML Technical Project Manager to lead complex Technology projects involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, cloud platforms, and enterprise IT delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing large-scale projects with budgets exceeding $1 million, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. This role requires a hands-on project leader who can manage multiple concurrent initiatives, coordinate with technical and business stakeholders, oversee project documentation, track risks and dependencies, and ensure delivery alignment with scope, schedule, budget, security, governance, and compliance expectations. Key Responsibilities The Senior AI/ML Project Manager will be responsible for: Project Management and Delivery · Manage complex IT, AI/ML, data analytics, and cloud-based projects with budgets exceeding $1 million. · Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, risk registers, status reports, and executive-level dashboards. · Use project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms. · Lead project delivery using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies, depending on project needs. · Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, deliverables, risks, issues, and dependencies. · Coordinate multiple concurrent projects while ensuring timely completion and stakeholder alignment. · Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, retrospectives, steering committee meetings, and project status reviews as applicable. · Track vendor, contractor, internal team, and stakeholder deliverables. AI/ML and Data Analytics Project Leadership · Manage projects involving Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data analytics, data pipelines, and model lifecycle activities. · Coordinate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, data engineers, cloud architects, application teams, business analysts, and security teams. · Support project activities related to AI/ML model development, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle governance. · Ensure project planning accounts for data readiness, data quality, model validation, integration dependencies, and operational support needs. · Communicate AI/ML project risks, assumptions, constraints, and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Cross-Functional Team Leadership · Lead cross-functional teams across business, technical, security, compliance, architecture, cloud, data, and operations groups. · Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication across project teams. · Drive decision-making, issue resolution, escalation management, and dependency tracking. · Facilitate collaboration among internal teams, external vendors, implementation partners, and executive stakeholders. · Promote accountability, transparency, and delivery discipline across all assigned projects. Documentation and Governance · Review, create, and maintain technical and project documentation, including: o AI/ML project documentation, Cloud architecture diagrams, API manuals, Project charters, Project schedules, Requirements traceability documents, Risk and issue logs, Decision logs, Status reports, Implementation plans, Transition and operational readiness documentation, Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, version-controlled, and aligned with project governance standards. · Support compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. · Work with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure project activities align with applicable standards and controls. Cloud, Data, and Security Coordination · Manage projects involving cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or similar cloud environments. · Coordinate activities involving cloud-based AI services, analytics platforms, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines. · Support planning and oversight for data governance, security, access controls, compliance reviews, and operational readiness. · Partner with architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data governance teams to manage project risks and dependencies. Minimum Qualifications (Must meet all the below) Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications: 1.) 10 or more years of project management experience managing complex technology projects with budgets over $1 million. 2.) Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as: o MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Similar enterprise project tracking tools 3.) Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies. 4.) 2 or more years of experience managing AI/ML and data analytics projects. 5.) Strong understanding of: o Artificial Intelligence concepts, Machine Learning concepts, Data analytics project delivery, Data pipelines, AI/ML model lifecycle 6.) 5 or more years of experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent projects. 7.) 2 or more years of experience managing cloud-based projects involving platforms (AWS, Azure) 8.) Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Or a related field 9.) Must be able to work onsite five days per week in West Sacramento, CA. 10.) 3 or more years of experience working with data governance, security, and compliance standards. 11.) Any experience with Public Sector projects, State and County is preferred
