American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Pediatrics, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/03/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a 24-bed Pediatric Oncology/Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant unit within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, • Patient population ranges from neonates to adults with childhood cancer treatment history, • Treats hematology/oncology, bone marrow transplant, solid tumors, leukemia, sickle cell, aplastic anemia, and select behavioral health cases, • Nurses rotate across all 24 beds including Hem/Onc and positive pressure BMT rooms, • Highly acute population with BMT experience preferred, especially day 0-2 of transplant, • Patient ratios: Hem/Onc 1:3, Bone Marrow Transplant 1:1-2 depending on acuity, Observation/Off Service 1:3-4, • EMR is EPIC, with Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing, • Required to work every other weekend; 12-hour day (0645-1915) or night (1845-0715) shifts, • No on-call responsibilities; travelers will work 75% of holidays, • Floating may occur to General Pediatrics, Ortho/Trauma, Gen Peds, Observation, and ED Holds based on skillset, • Unit regularly cares for highly acute BMT patients on Day 0 to Day 2 of transplant, • Behavioral health pediatric patients may be admitted; unit equipped with cameras and rounding Psych Techs, • Strong team support including Charge RN, unit educator, task RN, unit secretary, APP, and 24/7 RT and security, • Telemetry monitoring is the responsibility of bedside nurses, • Free parking provided, • Navy blue scrubs required, • First-time travelers considered if they have strong BMT experience, • Modified self-scheduling in six-week cycles; requests may not always be accommodated, • Manager approval required for requested time off, • Orientation includes NEO and two days of department-specific training, • Must be a team player and demonstrate initiative\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or Compact RN license required, • Current BLS and PALS certifications required, • APHON provider card required, • At least 2 years of pediatric nursing with strong oncology/hematology experience, • Port access experience, chemotherapy administration, blood product transfusion, and cardiac rhythm interpretation required, • Experience with blood cultures, central line care, PCA pumps, and heparin drips required, • Bone marrow transplant experience highly preferred, • Radius rule: candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
