Job DescriptionSalary: $40,000 - $45,000 per year DOE PARENT SUPPORT EDUCATOR The mission of BraveBe Child Advocacy Center (BraveBe) is to respond to child abuse through a team approach designed to reduce trauma, seek justice, and provide hope and healing for children and their families. Brave fACEs is a prevention program dedicated to addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) through awareness, education, and technical support. The program exists to prevent ACEs and equip the community with the knowledge and tools to respond effectively to trauma. Summary of the Position: The Parent Support Educator is responsible for promoting and facilitating Building Resilient Families curriculum that offers trauma informed guidance, encouragement, education, and practical advice to parents. Key Responsibilities: • Become a subject matter expert in the Building Resilient Families (BRF) curriculum and deliver the content to parenting cohorts., • Provide high-quality instruction, and serve as the primary trainer responsible for teaching, modeling, and reinforcing curriculum standards across all cohorts., • Facilitate Building Resilient Families group discussions and activities that promote learning, growth, and mutual support among parents and caregivers., • Provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental support to parents and caregivers, assisting them in coping with the emotional impact of parenting., • Develop knowledge and understanding of community resources and assist parents and families with referrals to services that promote safety, stability, and resilience., • Provide community outreach to strengthen and grow partnerships with agencies, schools, service providers, and family-serving organizations to support recruitment and class planning, including culturally informed and responsive curriculum adaptations., • Collaborate with community partners, multidisciplinary team (MDT) members, and BraveBe staff to identify families who may benefit from curriculum participation., • Work collaboratively with BraveBe advocates to plan and host internal Building Resilient Families cohorts for families served at BraveBe., • Coordinate with community partners on all training details, including scheduling, space arrangements, registration management, attendance tracking, and ensuring a professional and welcoming training environment., • Plan, arrange, and execute logistics for all BRF trainings and classes, including childcare, meals, room setup, technology preparation, hospitality, printed materials, supplies, and accessibility considerations., • Manage and distribute participant incentives (cash or gift cards), ensuring secure storage, accurate tracking, timely reconciliation, and complete payment logs in accordance with BraveBe financial policies and audit standards., • Maintain accurate and timely records of interactions with families, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards., • Develop, administer, and analyze pre- and post-curriculum surveys to support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement., • Facilitate and manage virtual parent support groups and discussions, ensuring accessibility for diverse parent populations., • Develop, upload, and maintain digital learning modules in online training platform, ensuring user-friendly navigation, accurate content, and accessibility., • Partner with Brave fACEs staff to create and distribute printed and digital marketing materials related to curriculum promotion., • Provide additional trauma-informed training to community partners, agencies, or BraveBe staff as assigned., • Represent BraveBe and the Brave fACEs program in community spaces, promoting prevention efforts and cultivating collaborative partnerships. Qualifications: • Associate's degree in human services, social work, education, counseling, or a related field is required. Bachelors degree in education or social work is preferred., • Lived experience as a parent, with a strong understanding of the challenges and joys of parenting is preferred., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals., • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality., • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices., • Crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure., • Knowledge of community resources and services for parents., • Completion of a peer/Parent Support Educator training program is preferred. Exempt employees must be able to work flexible hours. This position routinely works evenings and weekends to meet the needs of parents attending courses. Employees must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid drivers license and provide proof of insurance. Employees must submit to a criminal history background check prior to being hired and annually at the time of their performance evaluation.
