Job Description Location: Private residence near Lincoln, Nebraska Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 7:15 AM – 5:30 PM A Modern-Day Mary Poppins Role This is a rare opportunity for an exceptional, hands-on professional who finds real purpose in running a household with excellence and heart. Our client is a private, values-driven family seeking one trusted right-hand partner to steward the daily operations of their home while providing calm, confident care for school-aged children. This is not a traditional nanny role and not a light household coordination position. It’s a mission-critical role for someone who takes pride in follow-through, anticipates needs, and enjoys being fully “in the work.” The right person brings structure, warmth, and steady leadership to the home—creating the kind of environment where children thrive and parents can be fully present when the day ends. The Role at a Glance This integrated position combines hands-on household management with school-aged childcare. You’ll be trusted to manage the rhythm of the home day-to-day, executing tasks personally while keeping everything running smoothly and proactively. You’ll have autonomy, clear expectations, and the opportunity to build a long-term partnership with a family that values loyalty, excellence, and discretion. Key Responsibilities Household Operations (Hands-On) • Personally manage daily household operations with a high standard of care and organization, • Daily tidying, light cleaning, and proactive upkeep of living spaces, • Full laundry management (sorting, stain treatment, proper care, folding, and putting away), • Grocery shopping, household inventory, and simple, wholesome meal prep (comfort following recipes), • Household organization systems and regular resets, • Vendor coordination, service scheduling, and routine property needs, • Household calendars, appointments, travel prep, and online orders/returns, • Morning routines including breakfast, preparation, and school drop-off, • After-school support: snacks, homework, activities, and screen-time boundaries, • Transportation to sports and activities (travel baseball, club volleyball, etc.), • Care during sick days, school breaks, and schedule disruptions, • Support children in completing chores and building responsibility, • Daily care for the family’s dogs (feeding, cleanup, supply management), • Administering medications and coordinating vet care as needed, • Supporting children in their pet responsibilities Who Thrives in This Role This role is ideal for someone who: • Takes pride in tangible, hands-on work and visible results, • Is exceptionally reliable—things don’t fall through the cracks, • Is highly organized, systems-minded, and detail-oriented, • Anticipates needs and takes initiative without being asked, • Is calm, warm, and confident with school-aged children (ages 10–12), • Genuinely enjoys dogs and is comfortable with daily pet care, • Is emotionally mature, discreet, and professional, • Values structure, routine, and high standards, • Is aligned with Christian values and respectful of a faith-centered home, • Is seeking a long-term role (5+ years), not a stepping stone Common successful backgrounds include experienced household managers, senior executive assistants, career nannies with strong household skills, hospitality managers, educators, or mature professionals/empty nesters seeking meaningful work. What Success Looks Like By the end of each day: • The home is reset, organized, and calm, • Laundry is complete and put away, • Groceries are stocked and meals are prepped or planned, • Children’s homework, chores, and activities are handled What Hasn’t Worked in the Past • Pleasant personalities without execution, • Individuals who need frequent reminders or oversight, • Candidates who enjoy managing but not doing Compensation & Benefits Compensation: • Salaried equivalent of $20–$30 per hour, depending on experience and overall fit, • Paid on a salaried basis, • Annual bonus opportunity, • Full health insurance (medical, dental, vision) 100% paid for employee, • 401(k) participation, • Paid holidays and PTO, • Full-time, live-out position, • Background check, clean driving record, and strong references required, • Confidentiality is essential; identifying details are shared later in the process, • A short personality assessment is part of the selection process Bottom Line This is a career-level household role for someone who wants their work to truly matter. If you’ve ever been described as the person who quietly makes everything run better—and you love caring for a home and children with excellence—this may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
