Job Description Job Title: Material Handler Job Description This role involves safely operating a small hook crane and sit-down forklift/reach truck to handle rubber sleeves, separating and sorting mixed part numbers, and stocking materials in an organized, climate-controlled warehouse. The position requires consistent physical activity, including manipulating heavier parts, while maintaining accuracy, safety, and productivity throughout the shift. Responsibilities • Operate a small hook crane to move rubber sleeves from pallets to designated areas in a safe and controlled manner., • Operate a sit-down forklift and reach truck to transport, stage, and store materials throughout the warehouse., • Receive rubber sleeves that arrive nested with mixed part numbers and carefully separate and sort them by part number before stocking., • Stock sorted parts in the appropriate locations, maintaining organization and inventory accuracy., • Use RF scanners to pick, pack, and process orders as needed, ensuring correct quantities and part numbers., • Support general labor tasks such as unloading, packaging, and production-related material handling., • Perform order selecting and shipping preparation, including packing and labeling materials for outbound shipments., • Manipulate parts that may weigh up to 80 pounds, using proper techniques and equipment to ensure safe handling., • Stay on your feet and walk throughout the warehouse for the majority of the shift to complete assigned tasks., • Follow all safety procedures, including the use of hearing protection, and maintain a clean and organized work area., • At least 6 months of experience operating a forklift or overhead crane., • Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift and reach truck in a warehouse environment., • Basic experience with RF scanners for picking, packing, or inventory tasks., • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision., • Ability to stay on your feet for the entire shift and walk throughout the warehouse., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely manipulate parts that may weigh up to 80 pounds., • Experience with general labor tasks such as picking, order selecting, packing, production support, unloading, shipping, and packaging., • Strong attention to detail when separating, sorting, and stocking mixed part numbers., • Previous experience operating an overhead crane in a production or warehouse setting., • Experience in production or manufacturing environments handling similar materials., • Familiarity with climate-controlled warehouse operations and organized material flow., • Comfort working on both day and night shifts as needed. You will work in a clean, organized, and climate-controlled facility that supports your comfort and safety, including hearing protection and the ability to wear headphones. Work Environment The work environment is organized, clean, and fully climate controlled, providing a comfortable setting throughout the year. You will work with equipment such as a small hook crane, sit-down forklift, reach truck, and RF scanners, and you will use hearing protection as part of standard safety practices. The team operates across two shifts: a day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and a night shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The approximate team size is 28 people on first shift and 8 people on second shift, offering a collaborative yet focused atmosphere. The role is physically active, requiring you to stay on your feet and walk through the warehouse for most of the shift, while adhering to safety and cleanliness standards. You may wear headphones in this environment, subject to safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
