Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVPICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/27/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 27, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • 29-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital, • Cares for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease of any age, including both cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses, with an average daily census of 26, • Common procedures include cardiac surgery, VAD, heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, and complex medical cardiac diagnoses, • Unit provides ventilatory and cardiac support, ECMO, CRRT, and additional complex supportive therapies; all beds are monitored, • Patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity, • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, • 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule, with holiday rotation, • Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs, • Charting is performed in EpicRequirements, • Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start, • Required certifications (AHA only): PALS and BLS, • Preferred certification (AHA only): ACLS, • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required, • Cardiovascular and pediatric nursing experience required, • VAD experience highly preferred, • Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration, • Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for considerationAdditional Information, • This unit is a Gold Beacon Award-winning CVPICU and is ranked #4 in the US and #1 in the nation for outcomes, • Serves as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina, • Interdisciplinary team includes RNs, Patient Care Technicians, Unit Secretaries, Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists; pediatric palliative care is available as needed, • Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler, • Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit, • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates will be considered, • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on unit needs With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
