Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/23/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours \n PACU Registered Nurse (RN) travel opportunity in Midland, TX — 13-week contract, pediatric PACU experience strongly preferred, estimated weekly pay $2,120–$2,230.\n \n\nJob Details\n\n • Position: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) / PACU Travel Nurse / Peri-Anesthesia Nurse\n, • Location: Midland, TX 79701 — Midland healthcare jobs, West Texas nursing jobs\n, • Unit: 6218 Peri-Anesthesia Services (PACU & Pre-Op Holding, 21 beds, daily census ~30)\n, • Phase I PACU Patient Ratio: 1:2\n, • Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)\n, • Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (09:00 – 17:30)\n, • Hours per Week: 40\n, • Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days\n, • Call: Required\n, • Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract\n, • Orientation: 16 hours\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120 – $2,230\n\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n\n, • Experience: Minimum 2 years PACU or critical care experience preferred; pediatric PACU experience strongly preferred (Phase I PACU)\n, • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted with submission; must be active before start)\n, • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required\n, • Charting: Cerner experience preferred\n, • Clinical Skills: Arterial line (A-line) management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents, ventilated/intubated patient care, conscious sedation, nerve blocks, chest tube management, pain assessment & PCA pump management, emergency response/CPR\n, • Case Mix: Experience recovering Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgeries (all surgeries except cardiac)\n, • Trauma: Level II trauma experience preferred\n, • Other: Willingness to assist with Pre-Op coverage as needed; RTO required with submission; some holiday coverage expected; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n, • Provide safe, high-quality Phase I post-anesthesia care for patients of all ages (pediatric to geriatric) as a PACU nurse\n, • Perform rapid post-anesthesia assessments and continuous monitoring of airway, respiratory status, hemodynamics, pain, and complications\n, • Manage complex devices and interventions including A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, nerve blocks, and ventilated/intubated patients\n, • Administer and titrate medications per protocol, including analgesics, reversal agents, and emergency medications; recognize and treat dysrhythmias\n, • Respond to perioperative emergencies such as respiratory compromise and malignant hyperthermia\n, • Support Pre-Op Holding area as needed—pre-op assessments, patient preparation, and perioperative coordination\n, • Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Interpretation Services)\n GHR Healthcare Job ID #463100.
