Job description About Us: Morning Grace Cafe is a specialty coffee shop located in the heart of Flatbush. We strive to deliver some of the best coffee and espresso drinks to our community! We practice in the art of specialty coffee in order to provide and personalized delight in every cup. We have a nice variety of food that pairs well with most of our drinks on our menu! We strive to provide the best for our community! Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and food items. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that every guest leaves satisfied. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Comprehensively selling our baked goods - Expertly making coffee, espresso and tea beverages - Staying informed on all menu items. Remembering all important production & procedures of all items - Able to Dial in Espresso - Accurately handling cash at POS - Ensuring work space and retail space are clean and organized at all times - Restock items - Complying with all DOH regulations COMPETENCIES: - Self-motivated and customer service-oriented - Ability to think quickly and problem-solve - Highly skilled and consistent in all areas of coffee and tea service - Able to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization behind the bar - Able to communicate effectively with management, peers and guests - Customer service oriented/ friendly personality EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES: - 1+ years’ experience and proven technical expertise as a barista and counterperson - General knowledge of register/point of sale systems - Ability to multitask - Able to work weekends Compensation: $17.50/hr + tips with proof of NYC Food Handler's License Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 30 per week Benefits: - Disability insurance - Employee discount - Flexible schedule - Paid sick time Shifts: Opening & Closing License/Certification: NYS Food Handlers License (Preferred) Shift availability: 6:30AM - 12:30 PM | 11:00AM - 5:30PM Ability to Commute: Brooklyn, NY 11210 (Required)
