American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in a 31-bed Medical Telemetry unit (3N Renal Unit) within a 207-licensed-bed hospital, • Patient population includes end-stage renal disease, peritoneal dialysis (PD), fluid overload, sickle cell, diabetes mellitus (DM), altered mental status, cellulitis, diabetic ulcers, pancreatitis, and behavioral health, • Patient ratios: RN 1:5–6 (up to 1:7–8 during critical surge); CNA 1:6–12, • EMR: Epic (experience required), • Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors, • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 36 hours per week, • Every other weekend rotation required, • No on-call responsibilities, • Floating is required to all units within scope at the home facility, as well as to other facilities within the assigned region — candidates must be willing to float or should not apply, • 13-week contractRequirements, • Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand, • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, • Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience, with most recent experience within the last year, • Proficiency in general Med/Tele skills including stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, PCA pumps), • Experience managing medication drips including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF, • Epic EMR experience required, • Must provide the last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth for consideration, • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, • Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not acceptedAdditional Information, • Home unit assignment is determined on the first day of orientation, • Orientation includes facility-level NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation, • Unit support includes CNAs, a receptionist/HUC, a charge nurse, phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team (11 AM–7 PM and 11 PM–7 AM), respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist coverage, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays, • Up to 6 days of RTO (excluding holidays) may be approved; if contracted hours cannot be met, time may be added to the end of the contract, • Schedule cycles are posted every 6 weeks, • Navy scrubs are required, • Free parking is available on-site, • Former employees of any AHSE facility who held a permanent position must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
