Job Description Job Summary The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for leading and supporting IT systems across office, plant, and field operations. This role focuses heavily on plant IT infrastructure, operational technology (OT), and on-site troubleshooting, ensuring reliable connectivity, system uptime, and technology support for production environments. This position partners closely with Plant Managers, Operations, Safety, and Corporate IT to design, deploy, and support IT systems that keep plants running efficiently — including plant network setups, production system connectivity, mobile/field technology, and rapid response to operational IT issues. The IT Manager will regularly travel to plants and job sites to support new plant setups, plant expansions, system rollouts, and critical troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role requiring strong problem-solving skills in industrial and multi-site environments. Availability is required during operational hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional Saturdays. Key Responsibilities 1. Plant & Operational IT Support (Primary Focus) • Lead IT setup and support for new plants, temporary plants, and plant expansions., • Design, install, and maintain plant network infrastructure (switches, access points, cabling, connectivity)., • Troubleshoot production-critical IT issues impacting batching systems, plant controls, connectivity, and plant operations., • Support plant PCs, HMIs, tablets, printers, scanners, and production-floor technology., • Partner with Plant Managers and Operations to ensure technology supports uptime, efficiency, and safety., • Provide rapid on-site response for plant outages and critical system failures., • Support connectivity between plant systems and corporate ERP, dispatch, and production applications. 2. Systems & Infrastructure Management • Manage networks, servers, workstations, and mobile devices across multiple plant and office locations., • Oversee system updates, upgrades, migrations, and planned outages., • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across both office and industrial environments., • Maintain inventory of all IT hardware, software, and plant technology assets., • Coordinate with vendors for plant hardware, network equipment, and specialized plant systems. 3. Business Applications & ERP Support • Provide support for ERP, dispatch, production, and business applications used in plant operations., • Support database systems (SQL preferred) and coordinate with vendors on advanced issues., • Ensure reliable connectivity between plant systems, field devices, and corporate applications., • Assist with system integrations and data flow between plant and corporate systems. 4. Security, Compliance & Governance • Enforce corporate IT security standards while adapting controls for plant and operational environments., • Collaborate with Corporate IT and Security on cybersecurity and plant network protection., • Maintain documentation for system changes, access controls, and audit requirements., • Support SOX and other IT audit activities as required., • Ensure compliance with corporate IT frameworks and security standards. 5. User & Operations Support • Provide hands-on, on-site IT support for plant staff, supervisors, and office employees., • Support VOIP phones, wireless devices, tablets, and mobile field equipment., • Lead IT onboarding for new hires at plant and office locations., • Provide training and guidance on plant and operational technology. 6. Project Management & Leadership • Lead IT projects related to plant startups, relocations, system upgrades, and technology rollouts., • Supervise junior IT staff and external contractors., • Manage IT budgets related to plant and operational technology., • Partner with Corporate IT to align local plant needs with enterprise systems and tools. Skills & Abilities • Strong experience supporting IT in industrial, plant, or multi-site operational environments., • Strong troubleshooting skills for plant-floor and production-critical systems., • Knowledge of networking, wireless infrastructure, switches, and access points., • Experience with Windows systems and Active Directory., • Knowledge of SQL databases preferred., • Understanding of ERP and operational business systems., • Strong project management and organizational skills., • Ability to work independently in remote plant environments., • Excellent communication with operations, plant leadership, and corporate teams. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred., • Minimum 4 years of IT experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or multi-site operations., • Experience supporting plant or production environments strongly preferred., • 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred., • IT certifications preferred (Network+, CCNA, A+, Microsoft, ITIL, etc.). Working Conditions & Physical Requirements • Environment: Office, plant, and job-site environments., • Schedule: Full-time, exempt; must support operational hours including early mornings, evenings, and occasional Saturdays., • Travel: Frequent travel to company plants and job sites.
