Job Description About the Role We are seeking an experienced or senior Bankruptcy Paralegal with substantial hands-on experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters. This role is intended for a paralegal who is comfortable carrying a full, independent caseload and managing bankruptcy cases from intake through discharge or plan confirmation with minimal supervision. The position requires a high degree of ownership, precision, and reliability, with responsibility for meeting all deadlines and maintaining clear, professional communication with clients, trustees, and the court. Responsibilities Independently manage a full caseload of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters from intake through discharge or plan completion. Prepare, review, and file petitions, schedules, statements, amendments, motions, and related pleadings with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Draft, file, and maintain Chapter 13 plans, plan modifications, and all related documentation in compliance with applicable rules and procedures. Utilize BestCase or comparable bankruptcy software to ensure compliance with court rules, local practices, and filing requirements. Proactively track and manage deadlines, trustee requests, court notices, and required responses to ensure timely and complete filings. Communicate directly and professionally with clients regarding required documentation, timelines, and case status. Coordinate with trustees, courts, and opposing counsel as necessary to move cases forward efficiently. Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready case files in accordance with firm standards. Support attorneys by identifying and flagging issues, preparing cases for hearings, and resolving procedural or administrative matters independently. Qualifications At least 4-5+ years of direct bankruptcy paralegal experience required. Demonstrated ability to independently handle both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases. Strong understanding of bankruptcy rules, deadlines, and court procedures. Experience with BestCase or comparable bankruptcy software preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload without constant oversight. Compensation and Benefits Base salary between $70,000 and $90,000 depending on experience. Paid time off and paid holidays. Health and retirement benefits after the probation period.
