Experienced Maître D’ / Guest Relations Manager — LIBA Upscale Mediterranean Restaurant — North Williamsburg LIBA, an upscale modern Mediterranean restaurant located in the plaza of The William Vale in North Williamsburg, is seeking an experienced Maître D’ / Guest Relations Manager to join our team. LIBA is inspired by the energy of Tel Aviv nights—Eastern Mediterranean flavors, great music, elevated cocktails, and warm, genuine hospitality. We are looking for someone who understands that great hospitality begins long before a guest walks through the door. This role will oversee the full guest journey—from the first reservation inquiry and pre-arrival communication to the welcome at the door, the experience in the dining room, and the relationship we maintain with our guests afterward. This is a hybrid position, with approximately half of the role performed remotely and half in-house at the restaurant. Key Responsibilities • Oversee day-to-day Resy operations, including reservations, table management, pacing, guest notes, and optimization of the reservation book, • Manage guest communication via phone, email, Resy, and other reservation channels, • Handle reservation confirmations, special requests, VIPs, large-party inquiries, cancellations, and guest follow-up, • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulars, VIPs, hotel guests, and neighborhood clientele, • Develop a strong understanding of our guest database and help turn first-time guests into returning guests, • Train, coach, and oversee the host team, ensuring consistency in hospitality, communication, and reservation procedures, • Establish and maintain standards for phone etiquette, email communication, confirmations, and guest recognition, • Work closely with management to maximize reservations and seating while maintaining a thoughtful and comfortable guest experience, • Maintain accurate guest profiles and notes in Resy, • Communicate important guest information and special occasions to the management and service teams, • Be present in the restaurant during key services to lead the door, welcome guests, manage the flow of the dining room, and support the host team, • Handle guest concerns with professionalism, warmth, discretion, and a solution-oriented approach We’re Looking For Someone Who: • Has strong Maître D’, reservations, or guest relations experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant, • Has advanced experience with Resy and understands reservation strategy, pacing, and table management, • Is naturally warm, polished, confident, and highly professional, • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Is extremely organized and comfortable managing multiple communication channels, • Understands how to build genuine relationships with guests and remembers the details that make people feel recognized, • Has experience hiring, training, or managing hosts, • Can balance hospitality with the operational needs of a busy restaurant, • Is comfortable working independently during remote hours and taking ownership of the reservation department, • Has a strong understanding of NYC dining culture and upscale hospitality, • Brings positive energy, maturity, discretion, and a genuine love for taking care of people The Role This is not simply a front-door position. We are looking for someone who can own the guest relationship and reservation experience at LIBA—someone who understands both the operational side of reservations and the personal side of hospitality. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing the reservation book behind the scenes, communicating thoughtfully with guests, training a host team, and standing at the door during a busy service knowing exactly who is walking in. Hybrid position: approximately 50% remote / 50% in-house. Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
