Job Description THE ORGANIZATION The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. Since 1996, we’ve worked alongside communities, courts, and those most directly affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies: • Operating Programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges;, • Conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn’t; and THE OPPORTUNITY Midtown Community Justice Center seeks a Community Navigator for the Community First program. The aim of Community First is to create an upstream diversion from arrest and justice system involvement by building supportive relationships with people in need of services and creating linkages to mental health services, housing support, substance use services, and other kinds of social services as needed. Community First is a partnership between Midtown Community Justice Center, Breaking Ground, Fountain House, Times Square Alliance, Housing Works, and Ryan Health. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Community Navigator will be tasked with engaging community members frequenting the Times Square and Midtown Manhattan area who are experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness and often have co-occurring behavioral health challenges. In keeping with the Community First model, the Navigator will build trusting relationships with those individuals, and facilitate linkages to social services and other community-based resources. The Community Navigator will also work with clients of MCJC’s onsite programs, including court-based and diversion programs, who are unstably housed. Community Navigators are peers who share some lived experience with clients and use their own experience in establishing trusted relationships. Diagnostic Imaging Assistant Position Summary: Diagnostic Imaging Assistants are behind-the-scenes support staff that facilitate imaging for veterinary patients in all departments. They help the veterinary team perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients, but they do not provide medical care. This would include taking radiographs, running CT machine, and running MRI machine. Current schedule: Thursday & Friday 8am-5pm. Scheduled on-call for 1-2 Saturdays a month Diagnostic Imaging Assistant duties include: Work with lead MRI technician and clinical team to coordinate planned and urgent imaging needs. Take x-rays for appointments, pre-operative, and peri-operative. Coordinate and facilitate patient imaging requests Coordinate and facilitate CT scans and MRI procedures Operating imaging equipment such as MRI machine or CT scanner and following safety protocols to ensure patient safety. Assist with digital patient records; formatting and uploading digital images into PACS. Work closely with the PACS support team to ensure exams are completed accurately and finalized. Maintaining standards of protocol for entering records into EMR (EzyVet, etc.). Implement safety procedures for patients, self, and staff to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation (ALARA). Manage patient transportation from room to room, discharges, and in-hospital house transport. Client communication for certain imaging procedures. Including but not limited to safety, processes, and estimate creation/explanation. Position Summary The Student Accounts Specialist will support student billing, payments, and account inquiries. Key duties include processing payments and refunds, reconciling accounts, assisting with payment plans, and providing excellent customer service to ECFS families regarding sensitive billing matters. The Job We are looking to hire an exceptional Graduate Intern to assist the OppNet Fellows Program in the preparation and coordination of our summer of in-house programming. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in engaging in an innovative, six-year early college readiness and career development program supporting students in New York City. The position will require a commitment of 10-20 hours per week to start and build to 20-29 hours per week by June. The 10-20 hours/week for March-May is flexible based on the candidate’s scheduling needs. The position will be hybrid, with 1 day/week in-person at our Manhattan office required during March-April, 2 days/week in May, and 3-4 days/week in-person June-August. The Graduate Intern will support the Internships & Career Success team with best-fit placement of high school Fellows into summer opportunities, communicating with colleagues and Fellows on a regular basis. This role will support overall high school programming throughout the spring semester, in preparation for leading operations for in-house programs come summer. Each summer we offer learning experiences in a variety of career fields to cohorts of 10-25 students. The Graduate Intern will help to coordinate the logistics of the in-house programs, including our Finance Career Accelerator, Summer Science Research Program (SSRP), United Planet Virtual Internships, NFTE Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, Next Step Apprenticeship, CUP Urban Investigations, and Data, Activated. Each program has a facilitator or program host, and the Graduate Intern will support the program leads to ensure the successful implementation of each program. Some of the in-house programs will be conducted virtually while others will take on a hybrid format with some in-person days. Required Qualifications • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a closely equivalent discipline., • A minimum of 10 years of research experience in developing and utilizing polymeric materials, biomaterials, or other complex materials toward product/application development and their manufacture, with at least 5 years in a non-academic setting., • A minimum of 2 years of direct management experience., • Adept experimentalist with hands-on research experience with polymers, coagulation chemistry, and materials science of complex systems, including the development of structure-property performance relationships in designing and characterizing these materials., • Demonstrated ability to solve difficult technical problems and deliver practical solutions that meet the application requirements, along with a fundamental understanding of the chemistry that drives the performance required.
