American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a 32-bed ICU within an acute care hospital, • Patient population includes higher-acuity neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, ETOH withdrawal, stroke, TBI, and Camino ICP monitoring cases, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1, • RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own telemetry strips, • 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend required, • Charge RN and Resource RN available for support, • Patient care includes managing pressors, antiarrhythmics, sedation drips, and ventilators, • Care team includes 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, • Cerner EMR is used and prior experience with Cerner is required, • Floating required to Tele and any ED ICU/Tele holds, • Floor-specific orientation includes 8 hours with ICU educator and 16 hours with preceptor, • Must rotate holidays with core staff, • Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs, • Nurse aides usually assist during day shifts only, • No acrylic nails or gel polish allowed during assignment, • Returning employees must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year, • Pass/fail testing on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes may be required on first day, • RNs may be required to pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer for consideration in certain regions\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience; 3 years preferred, • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred, • Cerner EMR experience is required, • Ability to interpret tele strips independently, • Two professional references: one supervisory from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, • Copy of driver’s license must be provided\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
