Experience with setup and management of CNC, Punch Press, Saws, and Press Brakes., • Bilingual in English and Spanish - required for effective communication and team leadership. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills., • Familiarity with safety protocols, quality standards, and final inspection processes. FULL DESCRIPTION: The Fabrication Supervisor/Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the fabrication team, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. This role requires a strong sense of urgency, proactive problem-solving, and hands-on leadership. The Fabrication Supervisor/Manager is also responsible for quoting fabrication work, developing and maintaining procedures, and overseeing final inspections to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Fabrication Supervisor ensures that the fabrication department operates efficiently and meets organizational goals. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Force adherence to company safety policies, conducting regular safety checks and implementing improvements., • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operating correctly, coordinating repairs with Maintenance as needed., • Promote a safe work environment by identifying potential hazards and addressing them promptly., • Conduct team safety briefings at the start of each shift, ensuring everyone understands key safety concerns and updates., • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and work ethic, setting the standard for behavior and productivity for the team to follow., • Provide on-the-spot troubleshooting assistance to production workers facing challenges, escalating unresolved issues to the Production Manager., • Coordinate daily fabrication activities to align with production schedules and performance objectives., • Assign tasks to team members, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to deadlines., • Act as the main point of contact for the fabrication team, fostering clear communication of goals and priorities., • Quickly identify and address production issues, escalating unresolved concerns to the Production Manager., • Lead the quoting process for fabrication work, evaluating material and labor costs to provide accurate pricing., • Communicate with the Sales team regarding pricing updates and ensure quotes align with production capabilities., • Track costs associated with fabrication processes and identify areas for cost optimization report findings to Production Manager., • Develop, document, and implement standardized procedures for fabrication processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency., • Regularly review and update procedures to reflect process improvements, customer requirements, or equipment upgrades., • Train team members on new or updated procedures to ensure proper execution and compliance., • Oversee final inspections of fabricated materials to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards., • Perform regular quality checks on materials, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and company standards., • Work closely with the Quality Control team to address and resolve non-conformances before shipment., • Implement measures to reduce defects and improve overall quality within the fabrication department., • Document and address minor team conflicts and escalate unresolved issues to the Production Manager and HR., • Review production schedules daily and adjust plans to meet department objectives., • Track and post department production data into MRP daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness., • Maintain compliance with customer packing specifications, suggesting process improvements to enhance efficiency., • Train, mentor, and develop fabrication personnel, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively., • Lead regular team meetings to review performance objectives, address concerns, and reinforce department goals., • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and supplies are readily available and in good condition., • Monitor and replenish department supplies as needed to avoid disruptions in production., • Escalate significant issues, such as production delays, equipment failures, or material shortages, to the Production Manager for resolution., • Communicate with other departments as necessary to address cross-functional challenges and maintain production flow. Escalate to Production Manager as needed., • Requirements, • High School Diploma or equivalent experience with setup and management of CNC, Punch Press, Saws, and Press Brakes., • Experience in fabrication leadership or similar roles in a manufacturing environment., • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, sense-of-urgency mindset., • Proven experience in quoting fabrication work and analyzing costs., • Familiarity with safety protocols, quality standards, and final inspection processes., • Proficiency in interpreting part drawings, using measurement tools, and documenting production data., • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills., • Physical Requirements, • Ability to stand for extended periods (10 hours)., • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds., • Perform pushing, twisting, or pulling tasks as required.
