Reports to: Housing Program Manager This is an on-site position at an affordable housing community in Bellevue. Occasional weekend work may be required based on program needs. About the Role Wellspring is seeking a compassionate and community-minded Senior Resident Support Specialist to join our Housing team at a newly opened affordable housing complex in Bellevue. This position combines direct resident support and advocacy, senior-level team support, community and youth programming, and partner/contract oversight. The Senior Resident Support Specialist will work directly with residents to address housing stability and other barriers, while also providing day-to-day guidance and problem-solving support to the Residential Services team. In addition, this position will monitor services provided by a programmatic partner who will be serving the needs of residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is an ideal role for an experienced housing or human-services professional who enjoys a combination of direct service, team leadership, community partnership, program coordination, and quality oversight. The successful candidate will bring strong judgment, communication, organization, cultural competency, and the ability to navigate complex situations independently. What You'll Do Support Residents & Housing Stability • Maintain a consistent on-site presence and serve as a key point of contact for residents and service delivery needs., • Conduct needs assessment and develop individualized action plans addressing barriers such as housing instability, financial challenges, employment, healthcare, transportation, childcare, food security, and mental health., • Provide crisis intervention and eviction-prevention support, including assistance accessing rental and utility resources., • Educate residents about tenant rights and responsibilities and help residents, landlords, and property management resolve concerns and identify solutions that support housing stability., • Advocate for appropriate landlord mitigation strategies, including payment plans and reasonable accommodations., • Connect residents with community resources and coordinate referrals to appropriate services., • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation and report on service delivery, outcomes, and resident satisfaction. Provide Senior-Level Team Support As a senior on-site Residential Services staff member, you will: • Provide day-to-day guidance, consultation, and problem-solving support to Residential Services staff., • Help colleagues navigate complex resident situations, service coordination challenges, documentation requirements, partner communication, and escalation pathways., • Identify emerging site needs, service gaps, workflow concerns, and opportunities to improve resident engagement and service delivery., • Promote consistent team practices and support effective communication and decision-making across the Residential Services team. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on team leadership and support; it is not necessarily a traditional people-management position Monitor Partner & Contracted Services A significant component of this role is providing day-to-day oversight of services delivered by a third party. You will: • Monitor contracted case management, adult education, outreach, engagement, service coordination, and other approved services., • Conduct regular coordination meetings with the contracted provider and maintain ongoing communication regarding resident needs, service delivery, staffing, program barriers, and contract expectations., • Advocate for residents while building strong partnerships with property managers to find practical, mutually agreeable solutions., • Review service outcomes, participant engagement, documentation, data quality, reporting, contracted hours, and deliverables for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with the approved scope of work., • Identify service or documentation concerns and work collaboratively with the contracted provider to develop and monitor corrective/action plans., • Escalating significant or unresolved performance concerns appropriately., • Maintain organized subcontract records and use resident feedback, service trends, and performance data to identify opportunities for quality improvement. Build Community & Youth Programs • Support community-building events that promote resident engagement, connection, and social cohesion., • Design, implement, and oversee youth programs that support educational success, social-emotional development, and recreation., • Partner with families, schools, nonprofits, volunteers, and community organizations to expand opportunities such as tutoring, STEM, arts, sports, and other enrichment activities., • Help bring services, resources, and opportunities directly to the resident community. What You Bring Required • Four or more years of experience in housing support, case management, community engagement, or a related field, preferably serving low-income households., • Demonstrated experience providing senior-level team support, program leadership, quality assurance, contract monitoring, or partner/subcontractor oversight., • Knowledge of housing stability strategies, tenant advocacy, landlord-tenant laws, and conflict resolution., • Experience working with individuals or families experiencing homelessness, trauma, systemic inequities, or other vulnerabilities., • Ability to coach and support peers, interpret scopes of work, track deliverables, review program data and documentation, identify performance concerns, and communicate expectations clearly and professionally., • Strong judgment and ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, make sound decisions, and appropriately escalate complex or high-risk concerns., • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., • Strong organizational and time-management skills., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database systems., • Ability to troubleshoot minor software issues., • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation., • Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion., • Washington State residency at the time of hire. Preferred • Experience developing youth programs or working in educational settings., • Knowledge of local community resources and organizations., • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD)., • Experience with program quality improvement or contract compliance. What Success Looks Like In this role, success means residents receive responsive, respectful, and coordinated support; the Residential Services team has a strong senior resource for complex situations; and contracted partner services are delivered consistently and meet agreed-upon expectations. You will be successful when you can balance direct resident needs, team support, community engagement, documentation, and partner oversight while exercising sound judgment about priorities and escalation. Work Requirements This position requires: • Consistent, on-site work at the Bellevue housing complex., • Regular and predictable attendance., • Ability to move throughout residential, office, and community spaces as needed., • Ability to communicate complex or important information effectively in writing, by phone, virtually, and in person., • Ability to use a computer for extended periods., • Occasional weekend work based on program and organizational needs., • Washington State residency at the start of employment., • Reasonable accommodation may be available as needed.
