Role & Responsibilities: Our top candidate will have extensive experience in back end engineering, ETL and data pipelines, Linux systems administration, data-intensive web applications, and SQL databases. In addition, candidates with working knowledge of public and private real estate and financial data, GIS, machine learning, agentic workflows and ML model training will be considered favorably. In your new role, you will be based at the corporate office in Redmond, WA, and report to the Chief Product Officer. Please Note: This is a Monday-Thursday, 8am-7pm office position located in Redmond, WA. This role is expected to complete the following tasks: • Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance ETL and data pipeline solutions, • Design and scale distributed data processing systems using Apache Spark and Scala, • Utilize 3+ years of professional Rust programming for backend and systems-level development with 5+ years JVM experience, • Build and maintain RESTful or event-based backends in JavaScript and Node.js (5+ years), • Optimize and administer PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases for data-intensive applications (5+ years), • Manage and troubleshoot Linux systems, including deployment and security configuration, • Contribute to web applications as needed; full stack development is a plus Skills & Qualifications • Minimum 7+ years of total professional software engineering experience, • High-level proficiency with Apache Spark & Scala (hands-on experience designing and deploying distributed workloads), • 3+ years hands-on experience with Rust in production environments, • 5+ years hands-on experience with JavaScript (Node.js) in backend services, • 5+ years building ETL/data pipelines; deep SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL or similar), • Strong Linux systems administration background, • Web application development skills (bonus), • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, • 2+ years professional experience leveraging AI products (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, CoPilot) and coding assistants (GitHub, Cursor, Cline).
