Job Description Foster Garvey PC, one of the Pacific Northwest's leading law firms, is looking for a Senior Litigation & Labor Employment Paralegal with 5+ years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to make well-reasoned, effective decisions. This is a full-time role with core business hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm. Overtime may be required to meet client needs. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days in the office. Travel will be required as needed. Responsibilities: · Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation from case inception through trial and appeal · Assist attorneys in labor and employment arbitrations and administrative investigations and hearings. · Develop case fact background, including interviewing and communicating with witnesses, and gathering evidence · Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses · Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and document productions in physical and electronic formats · Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document collection, review, privilege logs, productions, and plan for and execute e-discovery strategies · Prepare trial and arbitration notebooks, exhibit lists, witness files, and courtroom presentations · Schedule depositions, hearings, and court appearances; coordinate with opposing counsel and court personnel • Manage outside discovery vendors, • Case and project management, including motions, trial preparation, arbitration, collective bargaining negotiations, and mediation, • Prepare litigation budgets and portfolios · Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism and observe employee and attorney-client confidentiality · Other duties or projects as assigned. Education and Experience: · Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience with state and federal courts and/or administrative agencies, and a strong working knowledge of court rules and procedures · Experience in a labor and employment practice preferred · Bachelor's degree · ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred · Demonstrated experience with e-discovery processes and document management · Continuing legal education (CLE) participation encouraged Skills: • Broad computer knowledge, skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, web browsers, and other compatible and related software, • Electronic discovery experience and strong working knowledge with programs such as Relativity, Digital War Room, or similar software, • Strong attention to detail, • Excellent organizational and project management skills, such as setting priorities, taking initiative, advance planning, and flexibility, • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively, • Strong verbal and written communications skills, • Knowledge of legal research techniques, • Must be accessible and responsive, • Excellent interpersonal skills, • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, • Strong understanding of litigation procedures and court filing requirements, • Ability to collaborate and promote team building, • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment, • Willingness to learn and proactively expand role in all aspects of a busy labor and employment practice, including administrative investigations, hearing, arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations Perks: • In-person and virtual training opportunities., • Collaboration across all Foster Garvey offices., • Workplace Wellness Program, and more! Salary Range: The pay range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
