Job Description Water Restoration Pros is hiring a high-level General Manager to lead and scale a premium restoration operation. This is not an entry-level management role. We need an experienced operator who has successfully run water, fire, mold, bio-hazards, and contents operations and insurance claims handling at a high level. This role owns day-to-day operations, team leadership, job profitability, production standards, customer experience, and growth execution. The right candidate can lead from the front, build systems, enforce accountability, and improve results across emergency response, mitigation, remediation, restoration, crime scene clean ups, staffing, reconstruction, estimating, collections, and client communication. This position is ideal for a proven restoration leader with strong field and office experience, deep insurance-claims knowledge, and the ability to manage people, numbers, and production under pressure. Key Responsibilities • Lead daily operations across all projects from intake to final completion, • Manage and develop department leaders, project managers, estimators, technicians, and office/admin staff, • Build and enforce SOPs, QA standards, safety compliance, documentation quality, and production workflows, • Drive profitability by controlling labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment usage, and schedule efficiency, • Oversee job costing, margin performance, WIP, AR/collections, and production KPIs, • Ensure estimates, supplements, and documentation are accurate, defensible, and submitted on time, • Maintain strong oversight of Xactimate estimating, claim communication, and insurer/TPA expectations, • Improve cycle times, closeout speed, and customer satisfaction while protecting margin, • Coordinate mitigation-to-reconstruction handoff and maintain clean project execution across both divisions, • Lead hiring, training, performance management, and accountability systems for the team, • Monitor on-call readiness, emergency response capacity, staffing coverage, and dispatch performance, • Resolve escalated customer, carrier, subcontractor, and production issues quickly and professionally, • Build vendor and referral relationships with plumbers, HVAC, property managers, insurance professionals, and trade partners, • Ensure compliance with company standards, OSHA/WISHA safety requirements, and applicable regulations, • Report directly to ownership with clear operational reporting, forecasting, and action plans Required Qualifications • 5-7+ years of restoration industry experience (water damage required; fire/mold/reconstruction strongly preferred), • 3+ years in a senior leadership role (General Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Director of Operations, or similar), • Proven experience managing both field operations and office/administrative workflows, • Strong understanding of:, • Job costing, margin management, and operational KPIs, • High proficiency in Xactimate/XactAnalysis (or equivalent restoration estimating platforms), • Experience leading teams, setting standards, and holding performance accountability, • Ability to read P&L reports and make operational decisions based on financial data, • Strong communication, leadership presence, and conflict resolution skills, • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, • Ability to participate in after-hours escalation/on-call leadership as needed Preferred Qualifications • IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT, OCT, etc.), • Experience with TPAs, commercial losses, and large-loss projects, • Background in scaling a restoration business from small/mid-size to larger operation, • Experience with CRM/job management platforms (JobNimbus, DASH, PSA, Encircle, MICA, Monday, etc.) What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months) • Improved production consistency and SOP compliance, • Faster job cycle times and cleaner file/documentation quality, • Stronger gross margins and better job-cost control, • Reduced bottlenecks, • Higher team accountability and lower operational chaos, • Better close rates, customer experience, and cash flow discipline Compensation & Benefits • Competitive base salary (DOE), • Performance bonus tied to gross profit, cycle time, and operational KPIs, • Profit-sharing opportunity for top-tier candidates, • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, • Phone/laptop, • Paid time off, • Health benefits [optional], • Long-term growth path into executive leadership Application Requirements To be considered, applicants should submit: • Resume, • Brief summary of restoration operations leadership experience, • Types of losses managed (residential/commercial, mitigation/rebuild, carrier/TPA/private-pay), • Team size managed, • Software platforms used (Xactimate, CRM, job management, etc.)
