Job Description Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager II to join the Surface Transportation team in our Kansas City, MO office. This is not a remote position. We are a fast-growing firm with 500+ employees across 25 offices in 10 states, serving clients through our four primary business groups: • Aviation, • Surface Transportation, • Water Resources, • Building & Site Services As a Project Manager - Municipal Projects, you'll play a key role in supporting the Missouri Surface Transportation team while providing the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment. Here’s what you’ll do: • Perform and lead projects including client management, supervising and directing junior staff in support of the group manager and the team at large, • Work with municipalities, county highway departments, and state transportation departments across all our locations, • Planning, design, and project management of transportation projects, • Work on a variety of transportation projects including rural highways, city streets, and multi-modal trails, • Leadership opportunity available, • Serve as a client manager or the ability/desire to grow into a client-facing professional capable of delivering high quality products and services to our clients, • Identification and pursuit of business opportunities, • Engagement of clients, agencies, and other professionals within the transportation industry Here is what you’ll need: • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field, • 8 years' minimum experience in Civil Engineering, • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), • Demonstrated technical design expertise in transportation projects including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specifications, • Previous project leadership experience required, • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and OpenRoads Designer software packages, • Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work and lead in a team environment, • Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects, • Ability to work in an environment with quick learning plus the initiative to interact with a variety of people, • Ability to mentor and lead junior staff Ideally, you will also have: • 10 years' experience preferred, • Experience delivering municipally/community funded projects, • Experience and familiarity with American Public Works Association (APWA) standard specifications, • Experience in business development, • Willingness to travel as needed, • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Physical Requirements: • Physical demands vary depending on the specific nature of assigned projects. The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 annually. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
