Job DescriptionJob Title: CDL A Driver Job Description The CDL Class A Driver safely transports, delivers, relocates, and picks up mobile office trailers, storage containers, and modular buildings for customers. This role operates commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations, performs thorough vehicle inspections, supports setup and staging at job sites, and provides professional customer service while working closely with dispatch and operations teams. Responsibilities • Safely transport mobile office trailers, storage containers, and modular units to and from customer locations., • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of tractors, trailers, and related equipment., • Ensure all loads are properly secured and comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations., • Coordinate deliveries and pickups with dispatch, operations staff, and customers to maintain efficient schedules., • Assist with positioning, leveling, blocking, and staging mobile office trailers and modular units at customer sites., • Operate and maintain tractors, trailers, tie-down equipment, and related tools in a safe and effective manner., • Complete required DOT logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and electronic documentation accurately and on time., • Monitor vehicle condition and promptly report any maintenance needs or safety concerns., • Maintain strict compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards and procedures., • Provide professional, courteous customer service during deliveries, pickups, and on-site interactions., • Travel locally and regionally as required, including occasional overnight trips when needed., • Support yard operations, including equipment movement, staging, and organization when not performing deliveries., • Assist with basic setup-related tasks at job sites, such as coordinating with teams performing construction, building maintenance, carpentry, remodeling, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing installations as they relate to modular units.Essential Skills, • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record., • Current DOT medical card., • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred., • Experience hauling oversized, specialized, or equipment trailers preferred., • Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and vehicle inspection procedures., • Ability to safely operate tractors, trailers, and basic material-handling equipment., • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with dispatch, operations, and customers., • Strong customer service skills to represent the company professionally at job sites., • Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively., • Experience or familiarity with construction, building maintenance, carpentry, remodeling, HVAC installation, electrical installation, and plumbing installation as they relate to modular buildings is beneficial.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working around outdoor construction sites and commercial properties., • Comfort working in environments with varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and uneven terrain., • Ability to assist with basic setup and staging tasks for mobile offices and modular units., • Strong attention to detail when completing DOT logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation., • Reliability in reporting to the same shop location daily and following assigned tasks and routes., • Flexibility to travel within the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight stays.Why Work Here? Work Environment You primarily work at outdoor construction sites, commercial properties, and company yard facilities. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with candidates reporting to the shop in East Syracuse each day to receive their assignments. You operate tractors, trailers, tie-down equipment, and basic material-handling tools in a field and yard environment, with no specific dress code stated beyond appropriate attire for construction and outdoor work. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of East Syracuse, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
