Location US-SC-North Charleston ID 2026-11176 Category Systems Engineer Position Type Regular Full-Time Application Open Date 5/4/2026 Serving as an Electronic Warfare (EW) subject matter expert, leading test support for next-generation communication systems • Leading the design and execution of advanced test techniques to evaluate radio system resiliency in areas such as Anti-Jam, Low Probability of Detection (LPD), Low Probability of Intercept (LPI), or Low Probability of Geolocation (LPG), • Supporting fundamental testing of tactical radio equipment within integrated networks with specific focus areas on Electronic Warfare (EW) and cyber resiliency, • Working with both legacy and future communications systems for the U.S. military, • Designing test cases that meet specified objectives (e.g., feasibility studies, requirements-based testing, parametric optimization studies, and development test troubleshooting), • Creating test reports, out briefs, and status reports to upper management and the customer, • Maintaining skills current with trends in industry and the government and keeping abreast of new developments in their field in order to best support and advise the customers, • Ensuring that all assigned tasks meet DoD guidelines, and are completed according to schedule #LI-SF1 • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science with eight years of experience or 12+ years of operational/military experience in Electronic Warfare or Tactical Communications, • Experience with advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, RF system testing, and system engineering, • Demonstrated experience with best test practices, including formal, requirements-based testing for resilient communications and EW systems, • Expertise in operation, analysis, and vulnerability assessment of tactical communication systems, • Direct experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, power meters, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and RF threat emulators, • Knowledge of networking concepts such as IP, routing, Unicast/Multicast protocols, UDP, TCP, and the OSI model, • Advanced knowledge of RF propagation, fading, interference, modulation, and Electronic Attack (EA) techniques, • Knowledge of RF performance measures such as gain, VSWR, phase noise, and noise figure, • Experience with maintaining and debugging networking test equipment including switches, routers, and traffic generators, • Ability to effectively communicate via oral and written communications with senior management and technical staff, • Familiar with RF system components such as amplifiers, filters, mixers, couplers, splitters/combiners, and antennas, • Understanding of fundamental resiliency concepts such as Low Probability of Detection (LPD) and Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) characteristics, • Knowledge of Electronic Attack (EA) techniques (e.g., reactive jamming, protocol-based attacks, signal spoofing, and other electronic warfare tactics to disrupt or deceive enemy communications and radar systems) gained via operator experience, evaluator experience, or development/integration experience with EA systems, • Test experience with DoD wireless communications systems or applications, • Knowledge and experience of military communications systems including modulation and coding techniques, MAC techniques, and routing protocols, • Knowledge of 3dB Labs SCEPTRE Signal Processing System, • Specific knowledge of military waveforms such as HF, MUOS, Tactical SATCOM, SINCGARS, ANW2, DAMA, IW, Phantom, VULOS, TSM, WREN, etc., • Experience with tactical radio systems such as the AN/PRC-152A, AN/PRC-117, AN/PRC-160, AN/PRC-158, AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-167, • Knowledge of software and toolsets including SPIRENT TestCenter, MGEN, iPerf, Keysight Benchvue, JMP, Wireshark, VMware, SNMP, Agile NetRAT scripting languages, • Experience with basic scripting languages such as Python, • Experience with MATLAB or other signal processing software, • Experience with GNURadio, • Development experience with common SDR systems (e.g., Ettus Radios), • Strong background in Linux operating systems SRC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with a company match, life insurance, vacation and sick paid time off accruals starting at 10 days of vacation and 5 days of sick leave annually, 11 paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and a work environment that encourages excellence and more.
