Job DescriptionJob Title: Receptionist Job Description The receptionist provides high-level administrative and front-desk support by greeting visitors, managing incoming calls, coordinating packages and deliveries, and performing a variety of clerical and office support tasks. This role helps ensure a professional, welcoming, and well-organized office environment while maintaining confidentiality and supporting daily operations. Responsibilities • Greet and direct visitors in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring they feel welcomed and informed., • Provide accurate information to visitors and callers, and answer the telephone or console switchboard promptly and efficiently., • Receive and send packages via couriers, ensuring proper documentation and timely handling., • Maintain a detailed visitor log and call record, ensuring accurate tracking of all guests and inquiries., • Issue and manage security passes and badges for visitors in accordance with office procedures., • Perform general clerical functions such as typing, filing, and data entry to support daily office operations., • Maintain the boardroom schedule, including booking meetings and ensuring the room is prepared and available as required., • Monitor and support boardroom equipment, ensuring it is functional and ready for use during meetings., • Provide administrative support as needed, including photocopying, binding books, and preparing mailers and other materials., • Handle information requests and assist with basic research or data gathering as needed to support office activities., • Organize and maintain documents and information in a structured and confidential manner., • Manage time effectively to balance front-desk responsibilities with administrative tasks.Essential Skills, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with visitors, callers, and colleagues., • Customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive and welcoming experience for visitors and callers., • Interpersonal skills that support effective collaboration and professional relationships., • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time to complete tasks efficiently., • Ability to keep information organized and maintain confidentiality at all times., • Previous experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint., • High school diploma or equivalent required., • 0–2 years of related experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of calls and visitors with professionalism and composure., • Experience supporting office functions such as photocopying, binding documents, and preparing mailers., • Comfort using office equipment and technology, including telephone systems and basic office machines., • Attention to detail when maintaining logs, records, and schedules., • Willingness to support a variety of administrative tasks as business needs evolve.Work Environment This position is based on-site in Charleston, SC, in a professional office environment. The role involves working at a reception desk and using standard office equipment such as telephones, computers, printers, photocopiers, and binding machines. The receptionist works during regular business hours, supporting front-desk operations and administrative activities throughout the day, and contributes to a welcoming and organized workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $15.00/hr.
