Job DescriptionJob Title: Accounting AssociateJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Associate to join our team. This role involves managing various accounting tasks, including job costing, processing invoices, and supporting the Accounting Department with reporting and special projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have a strong understanding of cost and construction accounting. Responsibilities • Input invoices into job costing software, including overhead costs, subcontracting, job and equipment repair, payroll, and temporary staffing costs., • Review and reconcile Accounts Payable vendor statements., • Process payments for subcontractors and audit subcontracts before retainage., • Process project-related invoices, verifying receipt of items or services, sales tax calculations, and appropriate authorization for payment., • Perform period-end responsibilities and meet processing deadlines., • Support the Accounting Department through impromptu reporting and special projects when requested., • Collaborate with the payroll administrator by providing employee hours, running parallel payrolls for job costing purposes, and reconciling discrepancies in data., • Collaborate with staffing agencies by providing temporary worker hours, reconciling hours worked, and processing invoices., • Enter and maintain employee, temporary worker, and equipment data in job costing software; enter manual data as needed for differential and other pay codes., • Establish and maintain professional communication with all internal and external project stakeholders., • Develop good working relationships with other departments, including Administrative Assistants, Project Managers, Estimating, and Site Work Crews., • Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve issues.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, month-end processes, journal entry, accounts payable, and reporting., • Experience with SAP, bank reconciliation, construction accounting, project accounting, job costing, and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting., • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting or construction accounting., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred., • Experience working with construction subcontracts is a plus., • Experience with Viewpoint Vista and/or B2W software is preferred., • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
