Job Description Job Title: Civil Project Manager Job Description The Civil Project Manager will serve as an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in civil site engineering, leading the design and delivery of a wide variety of commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and institutional projects. This full-time role is based in Chattanooga, TN and offers the opportunity to help secure, manage, and design projects while growing and helping to lead civil site services in the Tennessee market. The position is ideal for a professional with 6 to 10 years of design experience who is ready to take on project management responsibilities, support business development efforts, and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture. Responsibilities • Perform and direct the design of civil engineering projects, with a focus on civil site development and land development., • Prepare and review engineering reports, studies, design calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy and quality., • Conduct site and field visits to gather project data, observe existing conditions, and verify design assumptions., • Collaborate with engineers of all experience levels to develop innovative, efficient, and high-quality engineering solutions., • Assist in preparing proposals and statements of qualifications for new and existing clients and projects., • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule for multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining a strong focus on client needs and satisfaction., • Participate in business development efforts, including helping to secure new projects and expand services in the Tennessee market., • Cultivate and develop strong client relationships through responsive communication and reliable project delivery., • Direct and mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance, oversight, and support in project execution., • Contribute to building and growing a new geographic practice group in Tennessee by supporting strategic goals and market initiatives., • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach by setting relevant goals, pursuing new opportunities, and driving projects to successful completion., • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering., • Tennessee Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to practice as a licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee., • 6 to 10 years of post-graduation civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years in one or more of the following sectors: commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and/or single-site development., • Demonstrated experience in the design of a wide variety of civil site and land development projects., • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software for civil design and site plan production., • Experience in the direct procurement, management, and design of projects, preferably within the local Chattanooga or Tennessee area., • Proven ability to manage project scope, budget, schedule, and client expectations across multiple concurrent projects., • Ability to cultivate, develop, and maintain strong client relationships., • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment., • Ability to direct and oversee the work of junior engineering staff., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders., • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work., • Self-motivated, team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and willingness to work hard to meet project goals., • Experience with Bentley PondPack, StormCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Hydrographs Extension, CivilGEO GeoHECRAS, and/or XP Solutions XPSWMM is highly desirable., • Experience in site development, site design, land development, and preparation of detailed site plans., • EIT/FE or prior EIT experience in civil engineering is beneficial., • Experience with structural or survey-related coordination, including familiarity with stamped survey deliverables, is a plus., • Demonstrated ability to support business development and marketing of engineering services., • Strong social and interpersonal skills, with the desire and ability to represent the firm in professional and client-facing settings., • Dedication to fostering teamwork and contributing to a collaborative, supportive culture., • Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to establish, pursue, and achieve meaningful professional and business goals., • Interest in future advancement into high-level management, including building and overseeing a group of professionals and support staff. This position is based in an office environment in Chattanooga, TN. The role follows a full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime as project demands require. Work primarily involves office-based design and project management using tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software, complemented by periodic site and field visits to project locations. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $67.31/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
