Job Description Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking an Information Technology Specialist, Level I with AutoCAD experience, to support the Office of General Services (OGS) Design & Construction Team. This position is in-person, Monday-Friday, working with the Office of General Services (OGS) in Corning Tower, Albany, NY. Information Technology Specialist, Level I with AutoCAD experience to support the Design & Construction Team • Act as the Design and Construction Technical Representative with ITS., • Interact with D&C staff to understand issues and determine appropriate path for resolution of requests., • Address IT-Related issues that do not require the services of ITS., • Submit appropriate requests on behalf of D&C to ITS via the ticket management system. To include onboarding and offboarding requests, incident requests, software requests, etc., • Coordinate with requestors to obtain appropriate information, documentation, and approvals., • Monitor progress and status of tickets submitted to ensure appropriate and timely resolution of issues and requests., • Facilitate follow-up communications, as necessary, to ensure completion of requests., • Communicates and coordinates with internal business units and outside agency representatives (e.g., ITS, SFS) necessary for the administration of data systems., • Actively works with the many business units within the D&C to assess IT program needs and requirements., • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve system utilization and functionality. Requirements • Baccalaureate Degree in information technology, engineering/architecture and/or construction related field from an accredited college or university is preferred., • Possess 4 years of full-time professional experience with AutoCAD Computer Aided Design & Drafting applications with the ability to perform daily monitoring and maintenance of software and workstations is required., • Familiarity with all MS Office products Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, • IT customer support and training; installation, trouble shoot; computer security; database administration and maintenance of windows systems, • Networking knowledge of LAN/WAN, permissions, shared drives, and VPNs, • Experience providing training and refresher updates and assist users in the performance of their routine drafting tasks., • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently. Skills: • Ability to build and strengthen long-lasting client relationships by providing reliable service and project solutions., • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all management levels., • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills., • Must have strong organizational and time management skills., • Must be able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment., • Operate with a sense of urgency, quickly responding to clients., • Demonstrated leadership, responsiveness, and accountability., • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills., • Proactive and take initiative.Company DescriptionWPA is a woman-owned Owner's Representative firm and we manage construction projects for mostly nonprofits including schools, hospitals, libraries, etc. in the New York City area. We have been in business for over 30 years and have completed well over 400 projects. We currently have somewhere between 40-50 employees. Because we are a woman-owned firm we are on contracts with larger Construction Management firms such as LiRo, Hill International, Jacobs, Tectonic, Gilbane, etc. and we help them to meet their WBE goals. We provide Project Managers, Inspectors, Estimators, Office Engineers and so on. Currently we are on about 10-15 different contracts.WPA is a woman-owned Owner's Representative firm and we manage construction projects for mostly nonprofits including schools, hospitals, libraries, etc. in the New York City area.
