Job Description The SCADA Analyst will be responsible for system administration, data validation, application development, and end user support, while ensuring optimal performance and reliability of SCADA platforms. Coordinate with business users and technical teams to maintain optimum availability and stability of systems and hardware across multiple environments. Enhancing knowledge, understanding of system capabilities, and subject matter expertise. Devise and modify procedures to solve complex system problems and develop detailed supporting documentation. Conduct staff training including presentations and demonstrations. Essential Roles and Responsibilities • Administer, develop, and support SCADA platforms such as Ignition, XSPOC, and Autosol., • Apply developed methods and tools to support efficient integration of various data types from diverse RTUs, PLCs, HMIs and other field devices., • Design and maintain SCADA configurations, GUIs, scripts, and operational workflows., • Monitor SCADA servers and systems for performance, reliability, and security., • Troubleshoot software, data, and connectivity issues across SCADA environments., • Support commissioning of new assets, facility expansions, and integrations., • Develop custom SCADA applications and assist with data preparation, transformation, and reporting., • Provide training and mentorship to SCADA system users and junior analysts., • Manage SCADA system redundancy and business continuity planning., • Manage historian data quality and support analytics and reporting tools for engineering and operations., • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed., • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to triage customer-reported issues and recommend configuration improvements., • Document incidents and resolutions and contribute to a knowledge base for self-service support., • Respond to SCADA-related requests via, email, phone, and Microsoft Teams., • Travel periodically to field locations for system support and deployment., • Enhancing knowledge in performing advanced functional/technical analysis, root cause analysis, server configuration and testing on hardware., • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure optimization, stability, recoverability and security for supported systems., • Understand security roles and levels to support least privilege access control design for responsible systems., • Act as senior resource for escalated support providing individual training and guidance on hardware and core systems., • Enhancing skills in configuration and script programming to automate system functions., • Schedule and perform complete hardware installations, upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. This includes planning, testing, and coordination of internal and external resources., • Design, install, configure, maintain and perform system testing related to supported hardware, software, and related utilities., • Assist in leading system projects and coordinate with outsourced partners where needed., • Independently administer and manage supported systems; configure and maintain monitoring systems to support SLA metrics., • Seek higher learning opportunities related to SCADA technology, communication protocols, and industry best practices to ensure thorough understanding of the current, and future, capabilities of all supported systems., • Research and recommend hardware and software solutions., • Collaborate and communicate with all levels of internal and external resources., • Identify, develop and maintain system documentation in accordance with departmental standards., • Fulfill department requirements in terms of providing work coverage during system upgrades and outages or as business needs require., • Demonstrate flexibility and do what is needed to meet and/or exceed customer expectations. Devices include PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and other end devices., • Familiarity with oil & gas operations and field automation systems., • Programming Languages: Python, Java, VBScript, SQL, C#, Javascript, VB.NET., • SCADA Development Platforms: Ignition, XSPOC, & Autosol., • Database Management: SQL Server, OSI PI, PostgreSQL., • UI/UX Tools: Ignition Perspective, HTML/CSS/JS, Power BI, Spotfire., • Protocols: Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, MQTT, TCP/IP.
