Job DescriptionPowder Coater Job Description This role focuses on preparing and powder coating metal parts using a spray gun in a fast-paced sheet metal manufacturing environment. You will clean, mask, plug, hang, and coat parts, then remove plugs and tape, and package finished components for shipment, all while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities • Clean, mask, and plug metal parts in preparation for powder coating., • Hang and unhang metal parts to move them through an automated washer and oven/dryer system., • Operate a powder coating spray gun to apply coatings evenly and accurately to metal parts., • Wear full paint gear, including a fitted respirator and hood, at all required times in the spray booth., • Monitor parts as they move through the washer and oven/dryer to ensure proper processing., • Remove plugs, tape, and masking materials from parts after drying., • Package, wrap, and prepare coated parts for shipment, ensuring they are protected and properly labeled., • Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining strong attention to detail., • Lift and hang metal cabinets and other parts weighing 40–50 lbs frequently, including overhead lifting., • Spray from various positions, including lying on your back and working on hands and knees, to ensure complete coverage., • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures related to powder coating and respirator use., • Collaborate with other production team members to meet daily output and quality goals. Essential Skills • Prior production or manufacturing experience preferred., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship., • Ability to spray from multiple positions, including lying on your back and working on hands and knees., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs above the head for hanging metal parts and cabinets weighing 40–50 lbs frequently., • Comfort working next to an oven in a hot and dirty environment., • Ability and willingness to wear and properly use a fitted respirator., • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination for precise coating and handling of parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior powder coating experience not required; training is provided., • Experience with paint prep, coating, or working in a paint booth is beneficial., • Experience in sheet metal or general manufacturing is an advantage., • Familiarity with production processes and working around automated equipment is helpful. The powder coating area is located next to an oven, so the environment can be hot and very dirty. Powder coaters frequently handle metal parts and cabinets, often lifting 40–50 lbs and working overhead. You will wear full paint gear, including a hood and a fitted respirator, especially when in the spray booth, to ensure safety while spraying. The role demands consistent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise work and safe handling of equipment in an active production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty Lake, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
