Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our large law firm client's Business Law / Transactions team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to attorneys, ensuring the seamless management of legal documents, client files, and transaction closings. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced legal environment. This is an in-office role Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Responsibilities: • Assist associates and partners with business law transactions and closings., • Manage client billing processes, conduct conflict checks, and handle file openings and maintenance., • Coordinate and schedule meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders., • Assist with transaction tasks, including organizing documents for signature and coordinating logistics., • Draft, proofread, and distribute legal correspondence, memoranda, and other documents., • Organize and label closing documents and binders., • Track and manage deadlines by maintaining an accurate calendar., • Ensure attorney time entries are recorded promptly for billing purposes., • Perform general administrative tasks such as typing, filing, and photocopying as needed., • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and provide courteous legal support in diverse settings., • High school diploma or equivalent., • 1-3 years of experience providing legal support in a mid-size or large law firm., • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment., • Proficiency in maintaining client confidentiality and handling sensitive information., • Solid understanding of general office procedures and familiarity with office equipment., • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word., • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines under tight schedules, and manage interruptions effectively., • Familiarity with e-filing processes, civil litigation procedures, and calendar management.
