American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a busy hospital Labor and Delivery unit with both high and standard risk OB patients, • Patient population includes obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, and patients under 16 weeks on the high risk maternity unit, • Average of 20 births per 24 hours, 30-40 admits daily, and 20 rooms on the unit, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 2:1, • Specialized procedures include scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage, • Obstetrical triage unit for patient screening, fetal surveillance, and outpatient procedures, • Uses EPIC for charting, PYXIS, and SBAR communication, • 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, • Every other weekend rotation required, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, • Float required as needed, including to Special Maternity Care high risk OB unit, • No on-call requirement, • Scrubs provided (blue), • Primary responsibilities include providing nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients, including high-risk cases, • Expected to circulate in the OR for Cesarean births, • Unit is very fast-paced and may not be suitable for those seeking lighter workloads, • Initial unit orientation is 24 hours, • RTO (requested time off) is limited to 7 days and must be submitted at the time of booking, • Additional call-offs or RTO may result in contract cancellation, • Contract length options from 13 to 26 weeks, • Local candidates accepted\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license, • Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred, • BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications required, • Competency in circulating, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care required, • Experience in high volume and high acuity settings strongly preferred, • Ability to float to high risk maternity unit, • Basic computer proficiency for EMR documentation (EPIC experience preferred), • Unit will accept first-time travelers with appropriate experience, • 2 professional references from supervisors within the past 2 years are required for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
