Job Description Position Overview The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting. This role supervises functions across Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) activities, leading month-end and year-end close processes. The Accounting Manager collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams and external auditors to maintain compliance and optimize financial operations. Duties and responsibilities Accounting Operations: • Oversee all accounting operations including AR, AP, GL, bank reconciliations, and payroll accounting., • Ensure the timely and accurate invoicing, collections, disbursements, and financial reporting., • Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure accurate general ledger coding., • Manage cash flow forecasting and monitoring., • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements., • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports., • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies., • Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits and tax filings., • Manage and mentor a team of accounting specialists and AR/AP clerks., • Set departmental goals, delegate responsibilities, and oversee training and development initiatives., • Maintain and optimize accounting systems, including NetSuite, QuickBooks, and Sage., • Partner with Sales, Operations, HR, and Procurement to align financial processes and resolve discrepancies., • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. · CPA or progress toward CPA certification highly preferred. · 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a management role. · Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. · Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment. · Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. · Bilingual in English and Mandarin highly beneficial. Required Experience and Requirements · Required experience in accounting, accounts payables and accounts receivable, particularly in retail, e-commerce, or call center environments. · Must have experience with NetSuite. QuickBooks and Sage experience highly desired · Experience in invoicing and credit management. · Minimum of four years of accounting experience, particularly in retail/e-commerce billing and import. · Experienced in managing small teams and collaborating with other departments. · Large account experience highly beneficial. Must have experience working with large format accounts such as; Walmart/Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Amazon and Best Buy. · Experience working with CIT Group or similar groups strongly desired. Working conditions Must be able to work in an office environment and interact with co-workers to exchange information relating to products, orders, invoices, customers, and partners. May be required to work additional shifts including evening and weekends. Physical requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with customers and partners who have inquiries about products, orders, and invoices. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasionally moves files and small equipment weighing up to 25 pounds around the office or warehouse environment as needed.
